This is scary. Another one of the reasons why I won't vote for Ron Paul. He's supported by the wrong people and he supports the wrong causes. He opposed the Federal Marriage Amendment (which I'm sure the lesbians appreciate) and he's also aligned himself with some 70 ultra-liberal House Dems who said they will not vote in favor of any more money for the Iraq War unless complete withdrawal is assured.
Don't vote for Ron Paul in 2008 or ever.

And even scarier that you don’t recognize a rather silly piece of political satire that has nothing to do with the Ron Paul campaign for what it is.

He opposed the Federal Marriage Amendment (which I'm sure the lesbians appreciate) RP never met a piece of legislation he didn't oppose -- and that's why they call him "Dr. No."

I’ve talked to a few democrats who are voting for Paul in all the online polls. They know he can’t beat any of the democrats aside from Kucinich or Gravel in the general election.

I’ve talked to a few democrats who are voting for Paul in all the online polls. Just go browse DemocraticUnderground.com.. every time there is a Republican Nominee poll, they post it and 'DU' that poll.. (their version of 'Freeping a poll'.

One of my moonbat cousins explained that if Paul managed to beat the longshot odds and actually became president, he would be tolerable to the left. If he showed any conservative backbone (didn’t do what they want) he would be easily removed.

Thompson was against the Federal Marriage Amendment, so I shouldn’t support him either.
Both Candidates mentioned said leave it to the states.

I’m against the Federal Marriage Amendment because there is no need for new laws when existing laws already define the issue. Just because someone is against a specific new law, doesn’t mean they don’t support what the law is trying to accomplish.

mnehrling, I was responding to SConservative faulty logic on the marriage amendment.
I think we are in agreement.

It is.
Leftists would be horrified with 95% of Paul's platform (if they knew it) -- elimination of the welfare state, the income tax (along with too many other taxes to mention), gun laws, "hate crimes" laws, affirmative action laws, the State Dept., the Dept. of Education, etc. ....big gov't in general.
Pretty much all they know about him is his military isolationism, and that's because (curiously) the only questions directed his way in the debates concern the WOT in general and the Iraqi theatre in particular.
His naivete about the threat of Islamism and his seemingly unbending isolationism effectively eliminate him from consideration from my point of view, but most of his other positions are spot on.

That’s what bothers me. That’s why I cannot fathom supporting him for the presidency. I know his reasons behind opposing the FMA, but to me those are not 21st Century reasons that need to address the corrupted society we live in.

Well, if that’s the case, then it’s a big strike against Thompson. However, Congressman Paul’s approach has just completely turned me off. I think he gets some sort of strange kick out of being the lone ranger on his issues. Those aren’t necessarily good qualities for a President.
