There is a small error in the story.
The judge ruled that the child must reside in LA. While Anne is in LA, the Homer will live with her. When she is off on location, he will live with the father and Anne will have visitation rights.

Good points you made.
Sounds like a good decision for Homer.
Anne Heche not on my list of “I like your Acting”.
Some folks need to look at the alternative lifestyle of going it alone in life. I did and never regretted it. Were not all cut out to be spouses.
After her confusion about her sexuality and dumping Ellen now this guy she should really consider just being friends with others not sleeping around or getting married and making babies.
Spare alot of pain that way and it might help her deal with her mental illness. JMO
