The spider bots looked like foot long eight legged metal spiders wih acid needles.
And they splode!

I have to agree ... spider shapes of any kind are pretty scary.
Robots can span the spectrum of frightening to friendly, with Robby right in the middle. Classic robot!
But I was talking about the friendly robot in this frightening tale, dubbed SIAC -- Scout In A Can!

Always found millipedes to be fascinating.
The large ones are rather interesting to watch as they stomp around in their armored obliviousness to everything save what they can eat.

I like the segmented "pill bugs."
Defense maneuver, curl into a ball. Pretty innocuous.
I have a good idea of the robot design. I'm still working on the Moonworm details.

I know.
Bu we are trying to 'demolish the thread in a thread demolition derby.'
And then it shall be rebuilt in our horrid twisted image.

Song of the Spider Robot
I have some work to do up here. You folks who live down there,
Would not enjoy the job conditions, first of all, no air!
I dont seem to mind it though, at least I will not rust,
The lack of food would be a little problem too, I trust?
Ive got my Momma Moonworm. She suckles me at night,
And solar cells can feed me til the sun is out of sight.
It is the cold I run from, and you would too, you know,
My padding made of CO2 wont work when it is snow!
I have my brother robots, to help me with the work,
They simply do not know the concept you call shirk.
And theyll be there to lend a hand, if I perchance to fall,
And theyll relay the message when our Mother starts to call.
It is a good life, by and large, weve got the stuff we need.
We are your colony on the Moon. We are your working seed.
Well set the catapult up right, and send the things we make,
Jump up and join us, wont you please? Youre needed for Heavens Sake!

Neat, thanks!
(Inspiration took off on me again, with a chuckle, a nod, and a wink as she goosed the throttle on her jet bike to ride off into the sunset hues of my imagination.)
