Yep, seems pretty accurate to me. Born and raised in western Michigan. Mother grew up in New Jersey, father in Pennsylvania and Arizona.

You will find pockets of the mid south where 'soda pop' or 'sodie pop' is prevalent. Southeast Missouri, Northern Arkansas, parts of Alabama.
Well, now, to be accurate and fair here.
The 5th Assistant Grand DUmmie "EarlG," who started this whole mess by giving the DUmmiette "sfexpat2000" permission to have "one thread" for fund-raising on April 28--and who was subsequently demoted (from 2nd Assistant) for that catastrophic lapse in good judgement--uh, anyway, the 5th Assistant Grand DUmmie "EarlG" was born, raised, and educated in England.
Tea of course is a popular part of the culture in England, and so while it may have mildly sinister connotations (although I have no idea what could possibly be sinister about tea) in this country and culture, it is just an average normal usual customary thing in England.
And so I would consider that thingamajig the 5th Assistant Grand DUmmie "EarlG" uses, as merely an innocent symbol of what he is, just as I use the bison.
