Well, I don't know.
When I was a records supervisor for the former Immigration & Naturalization, it seemed to me immigration examiners made decisions based purely upon caprice and a flip of the coin.
Really.
The broad-bottomed, desk-sitting, bureaucrats making decisions upon whether or not the Chicago Cubs had won their game the previous evening, or whether or not the wife had given them fresh eggs for breakfast, or whether or not the applicant had a "k" somewhere in his name.
Really.
That is where our tax-dollars go.
Would you happen to know if Monte Sereno is an affluent area, with good real-estate prices?
Marking and getting to work.
I have learned not to let this thread get away from me! Too hard to get caught up.
I just checked on those H1 Visas. It looks like only 65,000 of them are issued. Sounds like a low number.
That is sort of what I was telling them. Yeah, there is the law that says a certain thing BUT there are also lots of exceptions. For example, if you get a traffic ticket you are supposed to go to court BUT in reality we (in Florida) can also simply pay $30 to a traffic ticket attorney (they advertise a lot here) and they take care of everything including going to court and getting the traffic ticket tossed out. I even recommended she contact the local congressman. Somehow they thought that was a ridiculous idea and yet I happen to know that if a congressman intercedes that would work. The congressman himself doesn't get involved personally in most cases. It is his office staff.
BTW, I will be putting up a new DUFU edition this morning. Not sure exactly what but it will definitely be related to the Andy Stephenson matter. Right now need to get some chow in my gut. Hard to DUFU when hungry.
This could be read in a couple of ways. . . .
You asked for it...sorry

Real-estate prices are a weakness of mine; I just never paid much attention to them, because as you know, real-estate prices here in Nebraska are way out of sync with real-estate prices elsewhere; much lower.
I guess my question would be: is Monte Sereno the sort of place where Barbra Streisand would settle down?
The other "handicap" (besides lack of knowledge about real-estate prices) is that I really never paid any attention to California. I know New Jersey like the back of my hand, but California may as well be Burma to me.
I was raised to be distrustful of the faddish, the fashionable, the trendy, the hip, the cool--and since California is "cool" and New Jersey is not, well, I just ended up knowing more about New Jersey than California.
Unelss you're a Buchananite "Fortress America" protectionist. Then that's a huge number that spells the end of the Republic.
Diabetes.
I need to get this resolved because I am facing a LONG Memorial Weekend that could end up being a nightmare of me being screamed at again without letup.
Scamdy claimed diabetes ALSO?
Diabetes.
Don't forget acute Karlroveitis... according to some of the DUmmies, Undie is an assassination target of BFEE.
Don't a lot of Phillipine nurses get to stay in the USA because of a big shortage in nursing?
Contacting the congressman--no matter the ideological or partisan stripe--ALWAYS helps.
Even the congressmen in Nebraska, even though "immigration matters" are not a big deal here, have at least one person on their local staff, and one in Washington, working strictly on immigration matters.
So probably a place like Florida, a congressman actually has half a dozen "immigration specialists" on both his local and Washington staffs.
Contacting the congressman ALWAYS helps.
Uh-huh. If your friend is in nursing, she has a big advantage.
I guess I am a dumb fraudster, perhaps I was in a diabetic haze.
I think Undie may have mentioned diabetes somewhere else, too.
