What gets me is some super-bright, super-intelligent, super-cerebral lad of the Jewish persuasion masquerading as a middle-class suburban goy housewife, when really, there is no need to.

That sounds like a description of Barbra Streisand's son.

I've been checking on WillPits PDA and TO. Nothing at TO. PDA has many comments on it that would be banned from DU, so if Will is looking to change his tune, he hasn't got around to cleaning up the mess at PDA yet. And he's been characteristically, excruciatingly prolific in his drivel stories at TO today.

Me too, volvox. I also find, if you show respect online, you don't tend to get hassled. I have seen some women who get really hostile or mean, and naturally they get it back. (Not you certainly!) But I too, do not have my name on my email or anything, while hubby does.

You know who I've always found wife-worthy?

My wife!

(I'm the one who's not worthy.)

Lies? That's a bit strong, don't you think?

No, I do not believe it is a 'bit strong'. I have basicaly been called a liar but I was told to keep quiet and wait. I waited and Speed verified everything for Andy! I asked some quesions through PM and got the same thing...keep quiet.

Somebody is lying here!

"excruciatingly prolific"--I put a patent on that phrase.

"wife-worthy. Donna Reed."
Yeah, she was something, but how about Maureen O'Hara in "The Quiet Man".
"Impetuous."

I would really love to know what you have to say. I agree with you somebody is not telling the truth here.

1. Show us where you were called a liar.

2. Show us where you were told to keep quiet.

3. Post what you were going to post earlier.

"The Quiet Man"! I LOVE that movie!

And, yes, Ms. O'Hara was stunning.

Today's news that the checks are real, that they cleared, that Andy is sick, in Baltimore, and scheduled for surgery--none of that really changes the basic questions in this matter. I've been granting those points as likely all along.

The big questions still remain: the amount of money; the handling of the money; the "urgent life-saving pancreatic cancer surgery" selling point; Undie & Co.'s misleading/inadequate communications; etc. Those have been the main questions for me all along. And Undie & Co. are still wide open to criticism on these counts, no matter what else.

Further--and I've been holding off on this until after the fun Miss Marple aspects of this case settle down somewhat--there is the matter that MisterRepublican has been highlighting, and with which I fully agree, and that is Andy's desire to "Politicize My Plight!" I believe that is what is going to be main angle to discuss in the end. I want to comment at length on that, but I need to take some time to formulate well my thoughts.

You know, I always wished I looked like Henry Luce, so that I could have Clare Booth Luce as my wife.

Scamdy always wished he looked like Clare Booth Luce so he could have Henry Luce as his husband for a whole American century.

Okay, sir, let us get this straight--and I am sure you will agree that it was negligence caused through sheer weariness and "information overload," than malice.

Three people (or probably four; I forget) volunteered to see if the "cashiers" checks were the real thing, yourself one of them.

One of those three (or four) people works in a bank; another of those three (or four) people used to work as a "skip tracer." Both are long-time members of Free Republic.

I recall, vaguely--after all, there have been s-o-o-o-o many thousands of comments--making a comment to you that a couple of people with "impeccable credentials" were checking it out.

I BELIEVE I made that comment with the "motive" that these two people are more intimately-acquainted with "the ropes" of finding such information, and I BELIEVE I made that comment with the "purpose" of sparing you time and trouble.

Anyone who has ever tried to read a fast-flipping Rolodex knows what I mean; just too much, and too short of time.

But anyway, so you contacted Verity yourself, and got a different story (I think) than these other two.....after which the "issue" of the checks was put on the shelf--still there, but something that could wait to be sorted out later.

I am sorry if you feel ignored, when in fact your own information is still here, still "filed"--it is just that it is something that cannot be figured out, straightened out, at the moment.

And I most definitely encourage you to continue offering illumination, but at the same time remembering that usually everything comes too fast, too much, and TEMPORARILY gets lost in the chaos; it is nothing personal.

Hmmm. I'm not real familiar with Maureen O'Hara. I'll check her out.

Kind of the same topic, you know Hollywood used to make some damn good movies, and I'm not much of a movie fan. Quality. I rarely if ever have that sentiment any more. The best of Hollywood is usually on Turner Classic Movies (the only thing from Ted Turner I even half consider worth watching).
