Oh there's been a few trolls. Maybe deep cover, stealth trolls but there have been a few. But I'll keep my suspicions to my self about who they were.

Did Undie know he was talking to a FReeper or did he think he was speaking to a fellow DUmmie?
We have known for thousands of posts that UNdie's medical records(whether true or not) showed a mass surrounding his bile duct.
This changes little. Speed is only giving us more information. Remember the words of the founder of Faber College..."Knowledge is good."

Well when he first posted I smelled troll and mentioned so on one of the many threads he started in like one day of being here. Next thing I know there is a very nasty DU like freepmail. I remember telling pj and meek about it, and then things died down, and thought hmm i might have been wrong. So today something told me to check, and I saw he was banned, and I missed it..LOL

But you know, what really bothers me is there are so many (legitimate) members of Free Republic with masculine-sounding screen-names who end up being.....women.

I always get caught on that.

No biggie, just a minor bump in the road.

It's just that right now, we're kind of stuck, because the Grand DUmmie "Skinner" shut the gates of "knowledge" in DUmmieland.

There might be one or two, but I couldn't discern them.

#1 aim for a mole or "imp" is to fool you.

I've seen elaborate hoaxes played out on internet boards so I've been very very skeptical from the beginning.

There are mole mods complete with all the stars and whistles on DU - there is no reason there can't be moles here. People talked about having more than one user name in these scam threads. Why would they do that? The Moderators might have a better idea what is going on as they can track IPs. Since we can't see the IPs one person could have many user names and noone would know. Maybe the mods keep track of this, I don't know. But you could still use proxies and have many user names each with a different IP. Again, I've seen it done.

LOL! That's exactly why I use Mister. I learned about that in a few chat rooms I used to visit when I first started going online. Saves a lot of problems.

To use the "search" function in DUmmieland, one has to be a PAYING member, not just a registered member.

I can't speak for all woman but I know that when it comes to the internet I am protective of the fact that I am a female. My husband uses his whole name as his personal email and I have committed to him that I don't think I would feel comfortable with that. It would make me feel too exposed. I know it is an illusion of protection, but it is something. As it has been stated on this thread, unless we meet people in person, we really don't know what is true about people and what isn't.

But you are also talking to someone who has always said "we" on the answer machine whether she is living alone or not and who is annoyed with her hubbie (only slightly) for putting his first name on our answering machine. It is probably being silly, but it makes me uncomfortable.

Yeah, women have to be more careful about such things.

I forget that once in a while, because a lot of times, I tread where many do not, conveniently forgetting that I am male, taller than most males, stronger than most males, and so no one is really going to mess with me no matter where I go.....the humorous truth being, since I am deaf, I am actually MORE vulnerable than most people.

Just lucky, and I admit it is a gift from God, luck.

I believe speed. He gave us the info he had. He didn't vouch for Andy, at all. All he did was report the result of his investigation.

The truth will come out at some point, no mater what any of us have said about all of this.
