According to George Harrison on the Beatles Anthology, there WAS no "Love" or "Flower Power". Just a bunch of dirty, drugged-up and strung out people.

And in his new book, Chronicle, Volume 1, Bob Dylan said they wouldn't leave him and his family alone, and he wanted to "set them on fire." ;')

The place is virtually empty when compared to pre-election.
Look for more defections to wildernesses and cabins without power soon....

I guess we no longer need to wonder what has happened to the dems , do we? You can't make this stuff up! No wonder we won! I can't believe 48% of this country is this far out there. As long as we can motivate our base they will never be in the WhiteHouse. Ya gotta luv it!

well, these people shouldn't fret. If they apply themselves, I'm sure they could land great careers starring in weekday midmorning Soap-operas..

Now that I can get back into Du the titles to the discussion threads are pretty funny to read. It's like a bunch of angst ridden teenagers all throwing a tantrum at once! The paranoia is rampant in their postings. Check out these little snippets:

DISRUPTOR ALARM

The fraudsters are heavily invading DU. They know it's very dangerous for them what's happening here.

Don't trust anyone (except you know him well)

- who tells you to stay calm and trust in K/E

- who mentions "2006" or "2008" - he wants you to accept the current election results

- who tries to explain away the results with gay marriage and similar stuff

They want to keep you from fighting.

Let's SHUT DOWN Washington on Inauguration Day!

Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 08:34 PM by EmperorHasNoClothes
I'm proposing a peaceful protest larger than any in history. I'm serious about this. This country was founded in a history of protest. The massive and wide-ranging protests in the past have actually produced results, and they're still talked about. But these days, it seems like everyone is all too eager to just roll over and take what comes. It is time to change that.

This is only the first step in taking back our country. Let's make the Million Man March look like a PTA meeting. Let's take the media focus off of the inauguration and put it on us.

Let's show them that while they can steal the election, they can't steal the will of the people.

On edit: They will in fact hold an inauguration again, even though he's currently president. Remember, Clinton was sworn in again in '96.

Maybe we should seriously consider WA and OR seceding.

Nearly 4 years ago, I tried to start a new political party with the aim of getting Oregon and Washington to peacefully breakaway from the United States to create a Republic of Cascadia. This did not work out as much as I had hoped. With the ever further moving to far-right of most of the country, maybe the idea of an independent Cascadia should be revisited. Do the progressive people of the Northwest want to be subjected to the right-wing fascist, christian fundamentalist movement?

Just a topic I want to throw out there.

Proof the Presidency was rigged......Colorado!

Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 01:27 AM by serryjw
I am a liberal NY transplant. Colorado has been considered a conservative state for the last 15 years......at the last moment it became a battleground state.

Now Democrats REGAINED control of BOTH houses of the state legislature for the first time in 42 YEARS! We sent BOTH Salazar Brothers to the US House & the Senate.......and we could NOT deliver CO to Kerry?...does anyone REALLY believe that?

If these slackers at DU ever decided to go out and get real jobs...they'd make millions writing sitcoms for the networks.

Add coastal California into that and I'd go along with the idea.

Yeah I'd have to agree with you. But first I'd demand that we be allowed to get the military members and their family out of there before the final papers were signed. No sense letting those slackers up there depend on us "morons" for their protection. Let them go to the U.N. for their "protection" LOL!

This is great! I'd like to see a Reefer Madness style documentary making fun of Democrats' wildly overstated warnings about what a Bush victory means. And they never learn! They still want to pretend Bush was supported by just a pack of Born Again Christians even though the entire country pretty much rejected their ideology in the 2002 and 2004 elections. Hilarious!
