I wholeheartedly agree. Many of the buffoons on this site need to be reminded that the first major incident in the modern Palestinian/Israeli conflict began when an Israeli(!!) settler opened fire on Palestinian men, women, and children as they emerged from a Mosque.Baruch Goldstein. That's one of those "forbidden topics" I mentioned in post #361. Indeed, it's a tossup between the Liberty, Jonathan Pollard, or Goldstein as to which is the most "forbidden". Goldstein not so much because of what he did as because of how some of the radicals consider him a hero and have indeed made a shrine of his grave.
Before someone nitpicks you, he shot only Muslim men, but shot them inside the mosque while they were at prayer. This of course isn't exactly any better.
Goldstein and Yigal Amir did as much to derail the peace process, which of course was their goal. The Israeli government has even declared Kach and Kahane Chai to be terrorist groups.

I disagree.
If there was a period of American history that MIGHT be analogous to Israel, 2003, it would be the period of "Manifest Destiny". Its legacy is Indian bingo, slot machines and alcoholism. Israel's "Manifest Destiny" period transmuted on 9/11 into a "war on terrorism" when, with the ground still trembling from the crash of the towers, Israel, feeling ever so slightly "exposed", appropriated new terminology and re-defined the terms of debate. Search for yourself. Prior to 9/11 the Middle East conflict was never characterized as a "war on terrorism . . . . Another thought . . . given the deep fractures and visceral hatreds WITHIN the Jewish population of Israel PEACE may prove to be an even greater existential threat to Israel than Palestinians.
Sometimes, in this war, innocents will get killed, that's just a fact. That doesn't mean, though, that I believe Israel is beyond reproach. It just means I believe they are in the morally superior position.
I agree. Many of my posts are meant to bring attention to the slow erosion of Israel's morally superior position. The "Light Unto The Nations" dims. Far too many "Christians" on this forum lick their chops . . . giddy for Rapture . . . mistakenly believing that Armageddon is under mans purview.
Thy Will be done.
