As one who {{{DUCK! INCOMING!!!}}} USED TO vote libertarian (note the small "l") because I didn't feel the Republican Party truly represented my views, I really appreciate the efforts of Jim, all those who support this site, and FR's consistent support of the GOP.

I now realize that it's VERY important to support the Republican party and put all of our weight/resources behind them, because they are our best chance to save the republic (thus the name "Agenda Express" - I am now on board).

As has been eluded to numerous times elsewhere in this forum, the socialists/communists have essentially taken over the Democratic Party. In order for those who really value the Constitution and the goals of our founders to succeed, we need to be unified and change the system from within. Being devisive and creating "factions" (See: libertarian party) will not help our cause.

Thank you Jim - and all of you who support and defend true liberty - for all that you do for the GOP - and for the forum for us to express our views.

Sincerely -

Agenda Express

I will probably be sorry I said this, but many FReepers don't care about the Constitution, Freedom or Civil Liberties right now.

The fact is that allot of people here are still fighting the Primary battle.. They never gave up (either side, winners or losers) and they will continue to fight about it until there's another Democrat in the oval office to take aim at.

That, unfortunately, is the truth.

Black helicopters landed in Fresno, and bunches of UN troops in blue helmets are now running it. Hang on while your IP address is cracked.

Draconian Patriot 1 and Patriot Act 2

Do you know of anyone other than Islamic terrorists who've been adversely affected by these Acts?

Yeah, bottom feeding subversives and drug dealers. Boo Hoo. On a serious note i do have some reservations as far as some of the TIA provisions. Like why the government has to check into my medical records as well as my cats.

I have recently noticed that the home page of Free Republic no longer has the icon at the top which states that one of the goals of this website is protecting our freedom and our Constitution. Can anyone help me shed some light on this?

It's a result of the PATRIOT Act.

It is the Democrat Party which believes the Constitution to be a "living" document, a document which must be adjusted from time to time to reflect the chic political correctness of the day. Ideally, they see the judiciary taking over the legislative function of imposing taxes and income/wealth redistribution schemes (socialism) on a largely reluctant populace.

The Republican Party is the only viable alternative to the scumbag Democrats, and so I believe that two important aspects of Free Republic's mission should be:
1. To replace as many Democrats as possible with Republicans
2. To replace as many liberal ("moderate") Republicans as possible with conservative Republicans.

I hope this helps clear up your confusion.

LL, most people will not be honest about how they feel about the changes at FR because they will be banned. It is disturbing that there can not be frank discussion of the unConstitutionality going on by the Bush Administration. I am not worried about Bush abusing these new laws, but I am deeply concerned about the next Clinton/Reno combo that comes along. Therefore I completely am very concerned that this administration is inadvertently causing our demise as a free nation.

You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding about the Freeper fanboys. It's OK to ignore the Constitution if it's a Republican president and majority that does it. It's only when the liberals do it that they complain.

Patriot Act? That's almost biblical, didn't you know?

There's a reason they call 'em vanity posts.

What a self-indulgent, weirdly paranoid idea.

Not saying you're that way, saying your post reads that way.

Vanity posts: you don't HAVE to make them.

I've seen many of the posts here, and I have a question.

What's your winning strategy. I've seen bitching, and I've seen a lot of REACTION, but LITTLE PRO-ACTION. Bitching about the site isn't going to do anything. It isn't going to get constitutionalists elected.

Welcome to unFree Republic, where no criticism of Israel or the Bush administration is tolerated. Don't you know there's a war on? No, sorry, we're too busy rounding up hate speech criminals to observe such Constitutional niceties as actually declaring war. Savage says anyone who opposes the war is flirting with Sedition! Round them up! What, why are you acting as though Clinton were still in the White House? There's absolutely no danger to the Constitution or our rights and liberties. And if you think otherwise, you're a terrorist working for a foreign power, and we are going to kidnap you in the middle of the night, revoke your citizenship, and ship you off to anonymous concentration camps, or to foreign countries that don't trouble themselves unduly over concerns for "human rights". It's a wonderful time time to be a jackbooted authoritarian! Huzzah!
