And your solution is???????
How do you find a sniper escaping a scene without stopping people to look and see? How do you stop a terrorist cell without watching them, collecting evidence, obtaining search warrants and going in?
So easy to forget the world changed 9/11 and demand your rights to live under pre-9/11 rules while the terrorists are in our country killing us with the rules established by them on 9/11.
Keep on complaining about your rights. You soon will have none if we don't find a way to get these terrorists.

OK .. instead of having to read all 280 posts .. could ya give me a little cheap sheet .. what is this all about? Sorry. It's a thread running in too many different directions to get a Cliff Notes version. It is simultaneously about FR policy, whether Republicans deserve our support, cesnorship, a critique of Cultural Jihad and the usual anti-WOD yammerings by the usual potheads and chicken littles tyring to cloak their addictions and paranoia behind the Constitution.
I've spent the last 90 minutes reading it. Was that concise enough?

Perhaps not under President Bush, but do you really believe that if a Hillary Clinton was to secure the white house for herself, that she, or another like her, wouldn't abuse such powers to the greatest extent imaginable? Now you understand why we are fighting so hard for Republicans in office - to prevent any more progression of the Hillary mode of government. Look at our fight for the nomination of Estrada. Look at the Dem tactics and efforts to change the Constitution with their coup of the judicial nomination process.
Their efforts if successful will mean that the president does not pick the judges - the opposing political party does with the use of filibuster. Meaning - the democrats will have control of the judges when in power and when not in power if they are successful in getting the precedent changed to require 60 votes to even proceed to a vote by the Senate.
And you wonder why many of us resent the battles among the conservatives over every single decision and action by the Republican president as they let the dems have free reign to do as they please - saying "Don't bother us - we are threatening to vote these dang Republicans out."
We are at war for this country - both against terrorists and democrats.

How do you find a sniper escaping a scene without stopping people to look and see? It helps if "you" stop cars matching the description of a vehicle seen at a shooting (dark colored Chevy Caprice instead of white van). No amount of neck twisting to avoid offending culturally sensitive groups will replace good leads based on probable cause.
And in most cases probable cause is the best evidence to support a conviction.
The point that hasn't been made is that our government is making as many enemies of patriotic Americans by treating them like criminals while placating mouthy special interest groups based on PC rhetoric.
In that case they will join the growing numbers of frustrated people persecuted for doing nothing wrong while the real evildoers mock our country while roaming around unscathed.
Promote freedom and punish the wicked. Anything else is ineffective and destructive.

Please, allow me...
Of course this is Friday night [we all know that on the weekends, the FReaks come out].
Someone thought they'd be cute and post a vanity seeing if their post would stir up the dopian hive.
It did.
Basically the entire thread has been twisted logic and bitter complaining from the divorced [from amongst other things....reality] clique that the Bush administration, freerepublic.com, Foxnews, the VRWC, You, Me, everyone who isnt marching around their front yard in a pair of knickers, carrying a musket with a copy of the US Constitution stapled to their forehead is a inebriated, Totalitarian enabling freedom hater.
Mixed in this stunted brew are rebuttals from a small but salient coterie including Jim himself.
Now, you're basically up-to-speed.

Yes - I agree - in a perfect world.
Yet sometimes time is a factor and possibly there could have been a change in cars.
Much of the things we complain about are due to the PC nonsense the democrats are promoting. We have to search all rather than profile (Why?). We cannot single out a race - must investigate all. On and on. Not the problem of our government running amuk - the problem of democrats promoting socialism and total control of our thoughts, speech, actions, investigations and on and on.
We must stop them. Do you think the government WANTS to search all? Wants to stop all cars rather than profile? No - they do it to please the PC crowd (democrats/liberals/blacks/Mid-Easterners) and avoid being sued. (Note - I'm not targeting blacks - just the ones attempting to exercise power over whities by threat and PC nonsense.)

I am vehemently against the WOD as an anti-Constitutional endeavor. However, I also strongly favor flooding the drug market with lethally poisonous 'look-alike' drugs to kill the druggies. So,you think it is Constitutional for the gooberment to murder "undesirable people"? You ARE _Jim.

So instead you will vote for some sad, no-chance 3rd party candiddate? Why not just push the lever or punch the hole for the Dems directly? They did .. the 92' elections sound familiar?

Me also, but I have so much time invested in mine I just can't bear the thought of scrapping it.
