I accept (( neutral )) the law the way it is So you think it's appropriate that---although alcohol is more deadly, more addictive, and more violence-inducing than marijuana---alcohol is legal while marijuana is illegal?

do you know what a loaded question is ? Yes, it's a question that by its wording asserts certain things to be true. The only possible 'loading' in, "So you think it's appropriate that---although alcohol is more deadly, more addictive, and more violence-inducing than marijuana---alcohol is legal while marijuana is illegal" is "alcohol is more deadly, more addictive, and more violence-inducing than marijuana." Do you disagree that alcohol is more deadly, more addictive, and more violence-inducing than marijuana?

The body doesn't store alcohol like marijuana . . . so the physical addiction isn't immediately apparent !

The body doesn't store alcohol like marijuana Drug Warrior myth. The body does not store marijuana or any of its active chemicals; the body stores only inert metabolites of those chemicals. As for addictiveness, Institute of Medicine figures show that of all people who have ever used alcohol, 15% of them became dependent on it, while the corresponding figure for marijuana is only 9%.

Yes, as is currently the law for alcohol intoxication. Be as drunk (or stoned) as you want, but don't drive on public roads or commit any crimes against property or persons.

Self monitoring is even better !Of course---but we obviously can't pass a law requiring self-monitoring.

Are you saying you think we CAN pass a law requiring self-monitoring? How would this law define self-monitoring, and how would violations be detected?

There would have to be a law to impose the requirement; we could expect that law to work every bit as well as Prohibition did.
