I wonder why those that are so convinced of DW's guilt are so bothered by those(like me) that have questions about his guilt? We're not.
We're the ones being told (or have been told in the past--it's actually been quite pleasant lately) to shut up and go away.
Ask your questions, just don't be upset if somebody decides to answer.

He also says that it is still in it's infancy as a science, and that this case presented too many variables that they hadn't dealt with before. So the idea that "the bugs don't lie" would be overstating the precision of such testimony?

Tell that to the Body Farm people.

he said that??? WOW!
Bugs have been used to solve crimes since the 13th Century.... huh, well, I'll be! Learn something new every day....
I guess that the science of DNA is still in it's "embyonic stage".
To: CAPPSMADNESS
He compared it to DNA himself. He said that DNA provides a certainty that bug evidence cannot yet provide.

In one of Goff's articles he talks about a murder where the person was wrapped in plastic which impeded the bugs for 1.5 days. He did experiments with a pig in his backyard.

Really..... Interesting indeed!
Thank you for the tidbit!

ummm.... Kim, there have been many death investigations where the decedent is dehydrated....well past the stages of little Danielle. And areas like California, Nevada, Texas and such tend to have a good number of these cases.
(not pickin! just adding some info)

Mummified 7 year olds are rare, thank God.

I have trouble with that. Just admit you were downloading zipped porn files and be done with it. I do think he is guilty of that. I just don't think he kidnapped and killed her. The rest of what I think about his proclivities would get me banned.

So, you're finally admitting it was his porn?
To: redlipstick
"Mummified 7 year olds are rare, thank God."
there are plenty of examples of mummified children world wide, from Egypt to Mexico, so no - when speaking about mummification, the occurrance of mummification happening to children is in fact increased due to smaller body mass and in younger children, low toxins and impurities in the body itself.
To: CAPPSMADNESS
I know you're not pickin.. I'm just going by what ALL of the defense witnesses said..NONE of them had worked with dehydrated children..only the one presented by the prosecution.
To: CAPPSMADNESS
btw, your #94 confirms what the prosecution witness said.
To: CAPPSMADNESS
Your response seems disingenuous. Her point was that very few 7-year-old bodies have been studied, bug-wise or otherwise, to determine precise time of death, certainly very few involving the long time frame in this case.

I tuned in to hear Rick Roberts out of curiosity. He is talking to a Mr. Neal who I will assume is John Neal. He says "Dave" told the police right up front they would find Danielle's blood "no matter what" but that it was innocent. Neal also says Westerfield told him the police planted all the evidence including fingerprints. Since my feed was hinky linking up I don't get why Westerfield would say the first thing (unless--going by his pov, he could see a set up was coming his way. Of course, I don't believe that happened).
To: ~Kim4VRWC's~
Indeed it does - but as Danielle's mummification was not "complete" (mummification of extremeties is really pretty common), it would be very hard to compare her remains with those found in Peru or Mexico.
I just find it difficult to believe that as hot and dry as CA is, that none of the "experts" had run into a similar situation. I know of three (mummified/partial mummification) in North East Ohio..... the youngest of this bunch being 12 years old.
To: cyncooper
Now Mr. Neal backs off from Westerfield asserting a setup and says Westerfield "thinks it's a possibility".
Now J.N. (Roberts just confirmed it is John Neal, ex-bro-in-law and father of the girl subjected to the fingers-in-the-mouth experience) says he said to Feldman today "why didn't you let Dave speak at today's hearing?" and that he said it in a hostile manner.
