"As in any frontier boomtown, however, with rapid growth came predictable problems. Some of the articles posted on the site came from racist or antisemitic web sites. Conspiracy theorists also made use of Free Republic. Leftists began to infiltrate the site, posting articles or posing as conservatives to act as agents provocateurs. "Vanity posts" became more frequent, and flame wars among members became more intense, as the site split into factions during the 2000 presidential election. Overall, civility degenerated. Some members became concerned that Free Republic had become a virtual hangout for kooks. The anti-semites, kooks, and leftists were doing their best to discredit and marginalize this site. Most Americans are not "zionists" or racists, but they can see hatred a mile away. They avoid it.
There is still plenty of room here to discuss the Bush blunders. I agree there are many to be critical of. But like it or not this site is the 800lb gorilla in web political activism, so lead follow or get the hell out of the way.

Unlike YOU, you disruptor, I have absolutely no problems, whatsoever, with reading comprehension. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact, that I'm NOT some ditsy , overly emotional , malcontent, as you appear to be. :-)

Yes I am aware of the SB reason ..
As for staying or leaving .. that is between you and Jim and none of my business
As for Bush and immigration .. I can't speak for anyone else .. but personal I'm sick and tired of the finger pointing .. this country has been doing this for years and nothing gets fixed
I am not saying there are no problems with the INS .. there is .. but what I would like to start seeing and some kind of investigation with "real" facts of where the problems are and "who exactly" is causes these problems
But all I ever hear is "close the border" and "deport" .. and that's all fine and good .. but ya got a more detailed plan??
You work for the INS .. who "exactly" is turning the blind eye .. what are the Judges names .. who are the employees that are ignoring the laws
Am I making any sense .. cause I sure wouldn't want to confuse to thread that is going on over at LP

Thanks for the explination.
If that's where they hang out, they should stay there !

Give it to 'em Jim. There's PLENTY of dissent here, just not the super-lunes from either side. FreeRepublic still includes about 90+% of American thought.

I'm not PC and that seems to be the prevailing attitude around here.
Man, I'm surely not PC, as many of my replies will attest, and I still manage, somehow, to stick around.
Believe me, there are people on this very thread with whom I've had some very heated debates/arguments with and I'm pretty sure some of them would love to have/see me kicked off of FR.
I live under the constant threat of banishment for my unPC comments and I monitor myself to the best of my abilities.
I'll probably go over the top again one day and I'll again suffer the penalties of my own actions. So be it.
For now, I'm just glad to still be here.

I reinstated it today after I saw a post of his on libertypost where he was claiming he was banned from here and therefor did not have access to his FR mail which he claimed he was unclear about.I can't find any post where he was claiming he was banned. This is the only post I could find that was similar to what you are saying:
It does not look like the e-mail I received form JimRob, but I can't prove it because I can no longer access FR. So FR can change and post what they want about me, and I can't rebut it, because I did not save those Freepmails.

If that's where they hang out, they should stay there ! Well, they would have, but they got this fax of a xerox copy of a letter in the Correspondence section of a magazine, which they didn't actually copy off a post at LibeltyPost.nut, so they posted it here because they realized that their account hadn't been deleted while reading posts from a relatives.
Or something like that.

It was implied, by him. How else can one NOT access one's FREEPmail, if NOT from being banned / suspended ?
That's not the entire post, why didn't you post it all ?

ROTFLOL ! That's about as clear and cogent, as what MI has been posting.

He didn't get banned. He asked for his account to be deleted.
