There are no laws specifically against using an air- compressor to fill a bus-driver full of helium with the intent of creating a novel balloon either, but common sense dictates that such acts are covered under other criminal statutes.

Conversely, it is purely an exercise in semantic wanking to presume that people could smoke pot without first being in possession of it.

It will be earth shattering I'm sure.

Should I wake the neighbors???

He's had it all planned from the start of this thread. We'll see.

Or someone who can't think of an original idea?

Aren't you the one posting family pictures of outhouses? Tell Grandma that I'm impressed...

Zon: Several people have said basically the same thing.

Who? You? I'm praying that you aren't a judge.

Are you?

You're boring me. Get on with sharing your supposedly profound wisdom (or whatever it will eventually be called once you share it).

is a trick question.

Of course it is. Notice how the framer and his jackbooted thug friends refuse to accept "possession" cases,or even to admit you have to be in possession of pot to be able to smoke it?

The question is, how many innocent lives have been damaged by marijuana laws? How many people have died? How many have spent years of their life fighting false charges?

If they would choose to even respond to these questions, their answer would be "They were breaking the law,so they deserved to have their lives ruined".

This whole issue is a red herring. When did we decide that the government could tell people what to do with their lives? How to live?

These people are statists who worship at the feet of a powerful state. They wouldn't have it any other way.

Where is freedom?

They don't believe in freedom. They want to be serfs to a all-powerful government.

You failed to answer the question. The question is - Has ANYONE ever been imprisoned for smoking pot?

Care to give an answer?

The only thing I would even attempt to explain to Zon and Stew is why I even bother responding to your nonsense.

IMO, it is a misnomer that smoking marijuana is prohibited by law. As far as I know there is no law that prohibits smoking marijuana.

Then you agree. Thanks.

Earth to Libloather...

I posted that to you way back early on this thread at post #19. Then again, I said basically the same thing on the Drug Czar on Anti-Marijuana Crusade thread, which is where you got the quote to begin this thread.

"As far as I know, ironically, there is no law that prohibits smoking marijuana."

That quote was from me to you over on this thread: Drug Czar on Anti-Marijuana Crusade. (An interesting juxtaposition between myself and liblother.)

IMO, it is a misnomer that smoking marijuana is prohibited by law. As far as I know there is no law that prohibits smoking marijuana. There are laws prohibiting possession of marijuana.

In a court of law the distinction is critical. One act can result in a court trial, the other doesn't. One act can result in being sent to prison, the other can't.

This forum is not a court of law and it is logically assumed by the vast majority of people that in order to smoke marijuana a person must have marijuana in their possession.

You appear to be making a very petty argument.

If you show positive on a marijuana drug test, are you arrested?
