And further, I consider the repeal of Prohibition to be yet another mistake of the FDR administration.

You apparently don't consider the expanded reading of the Commerce Clause to be one of those mistakes.

Your view is lost to him, of course. For a communist, society always comes first. Why he even visits FreeRepublic is what puzzles me.

It is not considered sufficient that the law should be just; it must be philanthropic. Nor is it sufficient that the law should guarantee to every citizen the free and inoffensive use of his faculties for physical, intellectual, and moral self-improvement. Instead, it is demanded that the law should directly extend welfare, education, and morality throughout the nation. This is the seductive lure of socialism. And I repeat again: These two uses of the law are in direct contradiction to each other. We must choose between them. A citizen cannot at the same time be free and not free.

But it does not guarantee free dope. Period.

Who has requested free dope? I am curious. Have there been people pestering Apu at the quickie mart, saying, I will give you $4 for the cigarettes, $8 for the 12 pack of beer, $1.50 for the two packs of twinkies, but damn it where is my free dope? If that is going on,... well it is an outrage (sarcasm)

Frankly, I don't think you dopers paint a picture of "independent, grass-roots conservatism." Do you? No,really! Do you?

But Illbay is?

I see. So the only rights we have as Americans are the ones enumerated to us in the Bill of Rights?

Does it prohibit dope? Nope, period.

Those powers which the Constitution/BOR does not specifically grant/prohibit, lie outside the Fed sphere of responsibility. Again, period.

So here we stand, the fed is illegally prohibiting substances and illegally enforcing that prohibition.

Why don't you address you question to Jim Robinson, I think he can give you a definitive answer on whether or not ending the WODs is a conservative issue.

Now list the names of those who died because of drugs. Start with the fetuses or infants of drug users and drug criminals and work up from there. Leave out the inane rationalizations — they are not nearly as humorous as what alcolholics say.

Free dope? I'm not sure I understand you.

I concede you may have superior knowledge here since I've never obtained illicit drugs.

But I don't think they are available at no cost.

I don't smoke weed. My drug of choice is Yuengling Lager, something that in the past was also banned by the federal government, but at least back then they did it properly, with a constitutional amendment, because back then they recognized the limitations that the constitution placed on federal action. So, yes, opposing the federal war on drugs is an effort to return government to a lower, grass-roots level.

You speak of Truth to which you are obviously ignorant.
The WOD is an unconstitutional and truly evil war against citizens
of this great country which belong to a particular subculture.
Moreover, it was brought about and is still conducted by racists
using the system to eliminate the black and minorities' vote
through felony possession offenses and subsequent revocation of voter privileges.

Specifically relating to good God fearing people like myself: The very first book of the bible states

GOD MADE HERB
GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD
GOD GAVE IT TO MAN

Genesis 1:11
Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so.

Genesis 1:12
And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:29
And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ..."

Employment Division v. Smith, 494 U.S. 872 (1990) - Court rules that the Free Exercise Clause cannot exempt one from drug laws. The two defendants were members of the Native American Church and had ingested peyote, a hallucinogenic drug. The high court states a new rule: no religious actions may violate general laws, but laws aimed specifically at religions or a particular religious practice will be held unconstitutional.

P.S. I don't want to hear any crap about hemlock(not an herb) or any poisonous herbs because they are all legal to possess or grow and indeed all have medicinal properties.

Most vile was one "VA" guys who wanted to poison the drug supply to want those who accidently ingested it "twitch".

Ah yes, VA Advogado. A lovely human being by all accounts. Wait until you hear him say that he supports' state rights unless the state doesn't do what he wants them to do, in which case it's okay for the feds to come in to "correct the flaw in their electorate".

And I appreciate your candor regarding your personal feelings toward drug use. The fact that you can separate feelings from facts is greatly apreciated, and is a knack lost on most WODdies. Thank you for showing us that what sometimes seem like useless arguments with JBTs here can have positive consequences.

Who you callin' "doper"?

Do you think that supporting an ever-growing set of federal agencies that subvert the Constituion paints a picture of "independent, grass-roots conservatism." Do you? No,really! Do you?

DO you suport asset forfeiture laws and practices? Do you? No, really! Do you?

Do you support prohibitions that increase the profits on a simple weed or plant by 1700%, whith most of those profits going to criminal and/or terroristic organizations? Do you? No,really! Do you?

Look at it this way. We (conservatives) all want smaller gubment, less interference in our personal lives, lower taxes etc.. Here is what the WOD has accomplished (despite it's lofty goal of drug erradication), higher taxes to pay for the war, huge gubment growth to wage the war, and regular intrusions into everyones personal lives in order to "win" the war.

Does that shed a little light on the conservative interest here?

OK, I've kept my mouth shut after you ratted me out to the Admin Mod for calling you names (bad Pern!). But I have to comment on this:

...right-thinking people...

And just who exactly are 'right thinking people'? And please don't use religion as a basis for your arguements, because religion has caused most of the woe's of this revolving insane asylum we call Earth. I find it amusing that people use religion as an excuse to 'change the heathen's' to their line of thinking. Religion is a crutch for weak minded people that are arrogant enough to think that there is an all mighty watching over them. I should know, becaused I was raised as a Roman Catholic for the first 17 yrs. of my life.

No one, especially some do gooder with a bible and an agenda, has the right to tell me what I can or cannot do in my own house, as long as I'm not infringing on the rights of others.
