These are companies on the edge of organizational failure that need to completely clean out the executive suite.

Well duh. Everyone already knows this, and it’s one of the reasons you dumb your resume down to the job you apply for. Companies don’t want to hire someone overqualified, spend $$ and time training them for two weeks, then repeating the process with the next candidate a week later when your “best candidate” accepts a better job paying double what you can afford to.
