You think the FBI would even be involved? Even resulting in death? Maybe local DA and police. But the FBI when there’s no evidence of even injury?? Eichenwald is the protected class whom the law has been contorted to serve.
As I read this, I recalled a case where a Televised cartoon triggered seizures in hundreds of Japanese children. I just looked up to provide the link below (I was surprised to find that the incident I was thinking of occurred 20 years ago. Tempus fugit.) Although this comes from CNN, it is actually true.

I think the FBI is involved, what especially after reading how the FBI is involved.
Oh yes, I know, and seizures can and do kill, but most of the sooper geniuses in this thread say that’s okay, because the guy who got the seizure inducing link is a liberal douchebag, so anyone can do whatever they want to him without any fear of legal consequence.
He shouldn’t have been on the internet anyway since he knows he has epilepsy.

I know he FBI was involved in this Eichenwald case. I meant would the FBI be involved in your scenario involving a 16-year daughter? Maybe a local DA would file charges but it would not be a federal case.

I imagine that if any such tweet was sent across state lines, they would be.
In this case, the man arrested was in Maryland, and the victim in Texas, so I assume that is the reason for the FBI’s involvement, otherwise I am not aware and cannot currently find out if cyber stalking is a specific federal crime that would immediately involve the FBI simply upon being committed.
I can’t really tell in the article whether or not it is a specific federal crime, but look at this -

That’s really messed up.
I know Eichenwald is a total lib douche, but this almost looks like attempted murder.
I can’t and won’t offer any defense of this. Very stupid, he’s probably going to have extremely serious legal problems as a result, and deserves them.
As far as my scenario of the 16 year old girl goes, I offered that because a lot of people seem to be seeing that since this guy is such a lib douche and made a total fool of himself on Tucker Carlson, this is okay, but it’s not okay.
Change around a couple of details in this story, and it’s outrageous.

Seems that they already have him on his stated intent and act of transmission, per 18 USC § 2261A(2), depending on the statutory definition of “interactive computer service.” No seizure required, just “substantial emotional distress.”
What if you knew he was, and sent him the link and weren’t stupid enough to refer to it, but just put “hey dude, this is pretty trippy! Check it out!”

There is no proof that there was a seizure.
At worst, it was an a**hat move by the sender of the tweet.
Now, with this arrest, it is becoming established that any offense given to a leftist online can be deal with by inventing or hyperinflating an accusation.
What is known to an absolute certainty is that this is how the left operates now. The evidence for that is overwhelming.
PS. I’m actually not trying to convince you. I’m simply informing you that there’s been a sea change. The left has been seriously rebuffed and they are not going to accept that peacefully. They never have. They never will.

Then, like the coconut allergy, he would certainly chose to avoid twitter, altogether. In schools they place kids at “the peanut table” if there lunch isn’t peanut free.
