Actually, boatbums, I don’t care what you believe or who you worship. I would never presume to tell you that you weren’t going to Heaven because your beliefs are different than mine. You, on the other hand, like many protestants here, apparently take great delight in judging Catholics and denigrating their religion, yet at the same time calling yourself a Christian. I think you should worry about that plank in your own eye, frankly.

Do you have a problem with that keyword?

I don't have a problem with that keyword. I have a problem with it being attached to this thread which has nothing to do with abortion.

I didn't post it to the "Smoky Back Room". Any idea who convinced a moderator to change it?

How do you know someone had to convince the moderator to move it to the Smoky Back Room? He or she most likely just used common sense. Anyway, congratulations.

By the way, there used to be an old Calvinist ant-Catholic lady who posted here. Did you used to post under a differnt name?

Why bother you with the facts? Your mind is made up.

Actually, I take NO delight in judging Catholics - because I don't do that. What some Catholics, apparently, think is that when someone disagrees with certain doctrines Catholicism teaches - and which is backed up by Scriptural evidence - they are "judging" or "denigrating" them. There are many Catholics here who have NO problem at all judging non-Catholic Christians and not only denigrating what we believe but condemning us to hell unless we convert to Roman Catholicism. I've not seen anyone here say the same thing to Roman Catholics about converting to, say, Southern Baptist or Lutheran. That is, and will continue to be the issue that divides us unless or until these certain polemicists recognize that salvation comes to those who put their faith in Jesus Christ rather than a religion.

Sorry, mate, but I was taught in 5th grade at Catholic school circa 1965 how to baptize babies. No rules applied to saving the babes. Where you guys pick up this crap is beyond me.

It’s Philomena, you fool, not Penelope, and it’s already been exposed as being full of lies.

Like I already said, the subject is of interest to those who are Pro-Life. It doesn't HAVE to be about abortion directly.

I didn't post it to the "Smoky Back Room". Any idea who convinced a moderator to change it?

How do you know someone had to convince the moderator to move it to the Smoky Back Room? He or she most likely just used common sense. Anyway, congratulations.

I didn't POST it to that category, that's why. The funny thing is, there are TWO other threads now that are about the SAME subject, and they were not put into that location. Why would those be any different? I've asked the Moderator about it and haven't received a reply. Is this "common sense" only reserved for some people and not all equally?

By the way, there used to be an old Calvinist ant-Catholic lady who posted here. Did you used to post under a differnt name?

Nope. This has always been my one and only screen name here. BTW...I'm not Calvinist nor anti-Catholic. The "old" part I guess is subjective. ;o)

It’s in the Catechisms.

Under what circumstances do you baptize babies. Every medical technician knows how to do so.

Not the same as a priest baptizing a baby, then providing a catholic cemetery.

If a baby is baptized by a nun or anyone standing there, when it dies, that is not what I am talking about.

anyone can have their child baptized by a priest, if they want to live a catholic life, and intend to raise the child Catholic.

Ah, so your lies have been caught out. All you're saying is that cognizant Catholic parents are subjected to rules. Good, I say. Why not? But a godmother or godfather standing quietly by, who might me offended at the parents, can still baptize that baby at their own place and time. Good, again.

And you guys kill me. If you were intelligent enough to know that F. Scott Fitzgerald was allowed to be reburied in consecrated ground, you would still be horrified at bigoted Catholics for originally denying him burial in consecrated ground. You're guys are all over the place.

I do not think these babies should not have been baptized in consecrated ground.

I do not deny that the nuns and everyone working with these women and babies might have been awful people, acting outside of the Church.

I am simply pointing out the rules and rites of the Church especially in practice in the days this place was active.

There is invariably a scream out of how the Church is exclusive. It is not exclusive. Anyone who wants to join, can easily find out what the rules are and join, and follow the laws.

Or they can start their own Church with its won rules.

If you want to be in the Church and demand rule changes, fine, but that’s not the Church.

I do not lie.

But I am always prepared to take such insults when I point out a Church teaching.

What is an offended godparent?

No idea

Watch the film Penelope to see the disgusting fanaticism of Irish nuns

The film Penelope was about a pig-faced girl and contained no nuns. We have now established the level of accuracy of your comment.

I have already stipulated to the particular brand of Irish emotional abuse that existed at least dating from the time of desperate famine in the 1800s until the past several decades. It occurred in families as well as among religious; but not in all families nor by all priests and nuns.

I take it you were referring to the film Philomena. That film was not a documentary; it was a fictionalized account with a clearly anti-Catholic and pro-homosexual point of view. Watching it to gain an accurate picture of the Tuam home would be like watching the film Sweeney Todd to form an accurate picture of barbershops.

I am not defending any misconduct. But I am disappointed some freepers' open eagerness to believe the rank inaccuracy and sensationalism of the reporting, in light of the anti-Christian and anti-Catholic agenda and propaganda sweeping Western nations supported and funded by Marxists, from the One World financiers to the UN to the Islamists.

Let's take a look at how hysterically misleading this "800 babies in a septic tank" headline is. As two earlier posts have indicated (click link here or here):

• There has not even been an establishment of fact that the container was a septic tank, and

• the historian on whose work this story was based said she did not characterize the container as a septic tank,

• nor did she report on any 800 remains in such a tank.

• What she did was research public records on paper of 800 child deaths at the home from various causes, over a period of many decades.

• The actual burial places of approximately 775 of those children had not been determined as of the above article, due to a lack of funding.

• There is no evidence whether Catholic rites were or were not performed.

• The eyewitnesses who discovered the container in 1975 said they saw, at most, 20 small skulls.

• The remains could have been children, could have been miscarried fetuses, could have been from the 20th century or could have been from the Potato Famine era.

Since so few forensic determinations have yet been made, the headline is obviously intended to stir up hatred and disgust, and it has worked among quite a number of freepers.

You seem to be the master of the double negative!

I’m amazed at how rigid you think the Church is. That is because you are an outsider with an agenda. I am an insider who grew up with 30 years of Catholic teaching.
All you know you know because you’ve read books. I’ve lived it, mate, and you don’t know what you’re talking about.

I often wonder if Catholics were swept into the sea, would these people turn on the Jews? They badly need someone to hate.
