Even today, life is fragile, but that doesn't make it any less sacred. Do you see a difference in attitude between cemetery sections filled with the dead, marked by photos on stone and constructed in a way that honors the precious life lost, and the dumped into a used septic tank, body after body of babies and young children, unmarked, unnoted, ungrieved, left there to only be discovered accidentally by kids playing, who will be haunted by the gruesome sight the rest of their lives??? I sure can. The missing piece is compassion. That is something people EXPECT of an organization professing to be Christian. I don't think that expectation is out of place. Almighty God is the judge and He knows the secret things and the things hidden.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Daniel 2:22)
It was a used septic tank left where it was, covered with a cracked cement top, and found by some school kids who were playing in the area:
Corless also said in 1995 several boys had found the mass grave, which lay beneath a cracked piece of concrete.
"The boys told me it had been filled to the brim with human skulls and bones. They said even to this day they still have nightmares of finding the bodies." (https://uk.news.yahoo.com/galway-horror-800-dead-babies-found-septic-tank-173247464.html#4F5aKPJ
Do you ignore that Nazis were an ATHEISITIC cadre? They were no more favorable towards Protestants than they were to Catholics. To suggest that born-again Protestants would have been willing, Jew-killing Nazis is no more realistic than Pope Benedict being a proud member of the Hitler Youth group.
Legitimate concerns are raised concerning the Church. But the opportunistic hostility is a different matter a bitter, small-minded game that can be played by both sides. Is that what you want? Id be more than happy to dig out crap on whatever Christian derivative you wave above your head.
In case you didn't notice, this is a current event and one that caught my interest. I would have posted it whether it was Catholic OR Protestant news. The only hostility I am seeing here is that of small-minded Catholic who detest any hint of criticism directed towards their church. Don't presume you know everyone's motives.
>> They were no more favorable towards Protestants than they were to Catholics.
BS.
Have fun with your “current event” and unrelenting whining about the Church.
FRegards.

“...Do you see a difference in attitude “
I see a huge difference in circumstances.
I see the attitude of Nuns devoting their lives to the care and comfort of “the least of Mine”. They didn’t have 365 acres and tens of millions of dollars to lavish on dust. Dust over which they likely grieved and prayed. Wouldn’t the all seeing God have seen that?
What do we know of the resources of this order? Were they wallowing in cash? Doubtful. I’d guess that those poor people got all the burial the Nuns could arrange for them.
We don’t know much about the money situation, or if Nuns also starved to death, or if their pensions were reduced, or if they appealed to Rome for some money to feed the children, or grew gardens and raised animals or what.
“I challenge you to name a more disrespectful location and manner of burial.”
OK. Here you go:

You are comparing actual burials to dumping bodies in a septic tank.
Do you know what a septic tank is?
I will be having simple burial my self, with a cheap coffin, but I won’t be rolled naked into a septic tank crammed with bodies.
“Do you know what a septic tank is?”
Duh.
You really are not very bright, are you?
Bright enough to not confuse being dumped in one, with receiving a simple coffin and a simple burial.
thanks for the facts..of course to Catholic bashers..facts aren’t needed..funny how they behave exactly like the libs they despise. ha.
Be sure not to die a pauper then. Naked and unwanted and a mass grave awaits those who do.
Facts matter - to grown ups. Haters and dullards, not so much.
A coffin and a burial, not being rolled into the septic tank.
In many times and many places, no coffin for the poor. And the Irish were poor. Really poor. Those that you look down their nose across time at those folks speaks volumes about the lack of charity they have. But then hatred and charity are enemies.
If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether the foolish man rages or laughs, there is no rest. (Prov. 29:9)
Don’t pretend that people are talking about pauper burials and cheap coffins, or being wrapped in linen, they are talking about dumping children’s bodies into a septic tank.
Hatred and bigotry is how you are responding to this breaking news story.
Right now you should be supporting efforts to get the Irish government to investigate this historians discovery.
