Your obvious hate for law officers is border line disturbed.

Show me evidence for that statement. Then apologize when you can't. Contempt for dirty cops is where I'm coming from. Your disdain for the constitutional rights of citizens is appalling.

Police report.

I don't wish to pre-judge, but this trooper writes like he dropped out of high school.

Also, let's look at the times that the trooper wrote in the report.

At the top of the first page, the trooper fills in the time as 10:45PM.

On the last page, in the Miranda Rights section the trooper fills in the time as 11:08PM.

Lastly, to the quote of the woman from the trooper's report that you repeat, "I sipped a glass of wine but didn't drink it," just below that in the right edge of the next section he adds "around 6:30." This notation "around 6:30" is not contextually in line with the comment in that section about the woman giving the trooper her registration.

I take this to mean that the office actuall wrote: ""I sipped a glass of wine but didn't drink it... around 6:30."

So, the woman admitted to sipping wine at 6:30PM, was pulled over at 10:45PM, and taken to the police station at 11:08PM. But you still think she was drunk from the 6:30PM sip of wine?

Driving a tourist out to release in Castle Hayne, about as far from Wrightsville Beach as you can get and still be within the jurisdiction, sounds like a final act of vindictiveness that has a pat quality to it, too, sort of like the husband getting pulled over on the way had a pat quality to it.

I’ll bet internal investigation will encounter prior incidents along these lines. Castle Hayne is definitely not your touristy type of place, despite the sort of charming name. It’s kind of grubby, not an especially nice place, pretty far removed from the beaches and the nice parts of Wilmington, the riverfront, etcetera.

It would have been an ordeal for the woman, with no car and no husband to pick her up. Probably couldn’t even get a cab out there. Which would have been the intent, if I’m reading the situation correctly.

Exactly. Thank you. My statement is correct obviously. I never said she was stalling to pass the test. I said she was stalling.

You can't even keep track of your own lies.

What a tool.

I rather doubt the officer is lying.

LOL! You don't get out much, do you? 0.00 live with it!

You have a case of a bigshot Democrat attorney working for an ambulance chasing law firm looking for publicity.

Yeah for the big time lawyer - if it happened to anyone else, we wouldn't hear of it - even though we know this stuff happens. 0.00 live with it.

The cop smells liquor on her breath when there is none - maybe it was from his own breath! After all, it took him at least 5 minutes to figure out how to turn off her car!

When I posted this I though it was an interesting incident.

Now, I regret even posting the article.

In my opinion Most State Police officers are competent and all business. There are a few bad eggs and normally they don’t last long.

That is all.

I never said she was stalling to pass the test. I said she was stalling.

But in post 65 you said this:

Anybody that hasn’t had a DWI here would KNOW the only reason for her to refuse the test was to buy time for the drink to wear off.

Life, like posting a thread to FR, is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re going to get.

I’m just curious, how many times did you hit “abuse” on this thread? And why?

“How many times a day do you think an officer gets lied about?

If you guessed once for each time he stopped somebody you would be right.”

No, I do not agree with you. Only if the officer were to pull over nothing but officers would he be lied about.

I just do not agree with your suspicious view of the public (which you just called ‘liars) and the goodness/honesty of LEOs.

Is it possible you ARE one of the two miscreants under discussion?

What you have here is the bed partner of a prominent ambulance chasing hot headed (assault charge) attorney.

Why do you continue to refer to her as something other than "wife". Are you trying to make this woman out to sound like a whore?

You need your badge taken away and abuse button . The cop supposedly got po'd when she got a 0.00 twice - same attitude here - truth revealed and hit the abuse button. Thanks for the video link, btw.

I read it and have to commend you for spending so much time in producing those facts.

I've been a member here a little longer than Mcguire and I must admit that never have I ever encountered an individual so wrong in his accusations in light of the evidence against him and yet he continues to attempt to argue his talking points which have already been proven false.......

I'm going on record right now in announcing that I am in no way related to this knucklehead nor have I ever encountered him in any thread on this site up until now.........

I think it's time to just let him flounder in his own ignorance and ignore him...,....

Yep, Life is like that.

Best of intentions do not always give the best results.

I think we are becoming very sensitive to police abuse of authority, due to the growing number of SWAT incidents that resulted in death of a possibly innocent citizen. The “militarization of the police” is a very troubling issue.

No. Of course not. Lots of women that aren’t whores supported John Edwards just because they loved to watch the 15 minute video of him combing his hair.

Two major problems with Wyrick’s behavior in this matter. Was his claim that a headlight was out valid? If not, then he pulled her over without probable cause. This fact seems to have been lost in the hype of the matter.

Also, if he told the husband to follow him to the magistrate’s office, why would he speed because he knew that he was immune from prosecution for doing so, yet the husband wasn’t but needed to follow as closely as possible to maintain visual contact with the trooper’s car?

North Carolina need not complain about budget problems with its judicial system. Much time and money could be saved if the arresting officer had the authority to release a person once that person has passed the test. If the state trusts the judgment of the officer to arm him and place him in a position of power over its citizens, why not trust his judgment to release an innocent person on the spot. The magistrates must be very busy people and very well paid.

Funny. We have a half dozen “freepers” believing 110% of what the John Edwards supporting lawyers wife says, right down to how long SHE says it took the cop to turn her car off but NOTHING the officer said.

Maybe a half dozen that don’t think America’s Finest are America’s Finest need to go to some support groups of the Officers that have fallen. They then might find something in themselves they lost decades ago.

He took a woman who had done nothing wrong from Wrightsville Beach to Castle Hayne with her hands cuffed behind her back. I have to go with he is a pluperfect jerk.
