Unlike most freepers, I liked Romney last time around. But he is now a non starter due to Romneycare.
My picks are Palin, Pence, DeMint, McDonell, Thune. In that order.
It gets much clearer when you break it down to basics. I am a conservative. I think that the more conservative the president we have the better our country will be. The most conservative of that bunch is Palin, so I will support her if she runs (and I think she will). As far as electability is concerned, don’t underestimate her. I don’t know that she is the “next Reagan”. I just know that there isn’t anyone else CLOSE to that standard.
I have lived in Michigan for 70 years and Gov. Romney was not the most popular politican in the state...Lots of people don’t even know who he is. He was Gov. during the Viet nam war.....complained that the military brain washed him...something of a kook......
The two on my list are DeMint and Palin.
Romney – Proven bad Governor. Massachusetts’ economy tanked as Romney
also imposed gay marriage, socialized medicine, RomneyCARE,
and Romney-DEATHpanels, as Romney also ruined the GOP, and brought in millions of illegal aliens destroying whole cities.
Romney is also hated for his perpetual crying and hiding behind his religion,
for leaving Massachusetts as he ran for President unsuccessfully using dirty tricks,
and for directing, encouraging, and condoning, his team to attack Gov. Palin on the “eve” of the Election 2008.
Palin – Proven good Governor. Beloved.

A few of the RINOs might believe this. The Democrats want all non-Democrats to believe it.
Anyone who really does believe it is not paying attention.
No boring, conventional white man is going to win the White Hut back from the communists. No RINO of either gender is going to win the White Hut back from the communists.
The communist media has already told us, day in and day out, long, hard, continuously, and most viciously, who can win the White Hut back from the communists.
The commies are not afraid of any RINO. They are not afraid of Huckster, McCain, Rudy, Romney, Pawlenty, Jindal(hey, did you know that Jindal is not a Natural Born Citizen -- you'll damn sure find out if the commies succeed in getting him into the GOP nomination), Haley Barbor, etc., etc., etc., RINO ad nauseum.
The top of the ticket is Sarah Palin, or bust. Perhaps we'll have Michele Bachmann in the #2 spot, maybe not, but the communist media have also told us the same about her.
Palin / Bachmann 2012 -- is the communists' and their lamestream media's worst nightmare, and they tell us this day in and day out, over and over and over and over, for anyone who is willing to listen.
Wouldn't it be more principled to move to a state where you can be a good guy by not stealing people's money and freedom, and still get elected?

Would love to see Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma consider running. Conservative and strong candidate. Maybe JC Watts would do a good job taking over Steeles chairmanship of the national gop too.
