You don't think I can read? And the burden under the FairTax would be shouldered disproportionately by the more productive, just like now. The socialist prebate entitlement and Linder's cry that the poor will be completely stricken from paying any tax makes sure of that.

I don't see the huge difference there that you apparently see.

Too bad the plan doesn't work like they say it will work.

So says that fount of knowledge RobfromGa.

I don't see it that way and I am FAR from alone.

Do either of you doubt that?

Yes. I think you give old Karl too much power and credit.

Tithe, or tax, literally means a tenth of one's income. That concept has been around long before Marx was ever born.

And that you cannot see the HUGE differience is a tragedy indeed!

Indeed that is true but what you fail to recognize is that it took Karl Marx and Frederick Engles, specifically mentioning a "heavy progressive income tax", to apply it to the business of taking over developed countries.

So, its not the income tax you object to, its that as currently constructed, it progressive.

Of course, the FairTaxers claim their tax is even more progressive, leaving the poor with more to spend then they have now.

Why do you object to the flat tax?

Exactly backwards! I object to the income tax in ANY form and am bothered not at all by progressivity.

Why do you object to the flat tax?

Because it retains all of the objectionable aspects of the current system and, in fact, hides even more of the true tax load in the prices of domestically produced goods and services.

And yet the US has more billionaires per capita than any other country - go figure.

And yet, the misinformation put out by you is amazing. Go figure:

As 2002

in terms of billionaires per capita, the United States is beaten out by Switzerland, Hong Kong and Singapore. Switzerland’s population of 7.2 million includes 13 billionaires, while 12 of Hong Kong’s 6.7 million people are in the club. Singapore comes in third, with 5 billionaires among 3.9 million people. Surprisingly, Sweden comes in fifth after the United States in the billionaires per capita category. Known for its egalitarianism, Sweden nevertheless has six billionaires among its population of 8.9 million.

I see those that accuse us of snake oil tactics can only digress into calling you pigdog. It would be funny if it weren't so pitiful. The IRS lapdogs are playing today aren't they?

Actually, pigdog is sitting right here with me. He is telling me what to post. Here pigdog, have another mint julep.

Yes they are! Playing right into our hands that is and the kicker is that they are so foolish that they don't even realize what they are doing!

You and Pigdog enjoy and have one for me!

I was wrong! Thank you for the correction.

The Swiss must be very clever to have so many billionaires and an income tax too.

What is telling in this little exchange is that you are a maginificent liar. We all knew that all along so our targets haven't changed. We are onto you lm. So sorry that your fibs are manifest this late at night on a SBR thread. Too bad that the rest of the world can't see it. As my old granmma used to tell me, honesty is the best policy.

Looking at #1094 and #1095, which are both written by you in response to the same post by lucysmom (#1093) written less than 10 minutes apart causes me to wonder if you are all right, or if you have voices in your head.

#1094 groanup to lucysmom: "Thank-you for being an honest person."

Ten minutes later, no intervening posts...

#1095 groanup to lucysmom: "you are a maginificent liar...We are onto you lm...your fibs...As my old granmma used to tell me, honesty is the best policy.

You might need help. Either that or pigdog got a hold of your keyboard after you went to bed.

Do any of you guys know the difference from being wrong and being a liar? Everyone is wrong or makes a mistake from time to time. Lying is knowingly saying something is untrue.

Seriously Rob, you and I make a GREAT team. Last Saturday morning, while you were pinned down here playing on the internet and making converts to the Fairtax, I was making a Fairtax presentation to several hundred American Legion members at their regional convention. GREAT bunch of people!
I'm sure they all cheered when they heard they would get to keep their entire paycheck and, somehow, prices wouldn't go up...

What is meant by "target"? Am I a "target"? Is that some kind of threat?

What exactly do you think I'm up to that you are onto?

Do any of you guys know the difference from being wrong and being a liar?

Makes one wonder, doesn't it? Projection?

I'm sure they all cheered when they heard they would get to keep their entire paycheck and, somehow, prices wouldn't go up...

Now that we know Bigun is an official (paid?) spokesperson for the Fairtax we also found out they've abandoned the 100% paycheck promise for a net paycheck promise. The 100% paycheck promise like most things in the Fairtax plan was apparently a lie, note the word "will" in Bigun's quote below.

as has been pr oven hundreds of times, the VAST majority will see increased purchasing power with their net wages under the FairTax!

992 posted on 10/26/2006 6:47:44 AM PDT by Bigun (IRS sucks @getridof it.com)

Oh and also note how many times it's been proven, hundreds. I've been on these threads for years and I missed every one of those posts proving that. In fact the other (resident) spokesmouth denied it...

So once again with the Fairtax we have to ask which one is the lie and not who is lying but do any Fairtaxers EVER tell the truth?
