Thanks you answered a few ???? I have been pondering.
Esp. who the heck do you marry and procreate with in a closed community with out ending up with cleft palates and such.
Yeah, exemplary morals, values and behavior have been driving less than honorable folks over the edge to violence at least as long ago as Calvary and Soddom and Gomorrah.
I just hate to see it hit the precious Amish folks.
A string of words I really never expected to hear. Sounds like an album title.
Unfortunately, the psychologist is right. Without a strong, traditional family structure, young men (and young women) have become increasingly violent. That is a simple fact and has been backed up statistically.
Actually, it was. So were the Birmingham church bombings. The Spanish inquisition. The 6-day war. The hundred-day-war. The holocaust. These events were set in motion the moment Adam ate of the fruit. Since then, we've been killing, robbing, lying to and cheating each other. We just can't help ourselves
The Father gave us a lifeline by sending His son, the Christ. But to this day most just ignore Him, or follow Him in name only. So, expect these sort of things to happen until time runs out.
it works in other areas, but most people here are so afraid of guns that they think that they have more to fear from their fellow employees than a homicidal maniac.
mind conditioning - their only hope lies in not thinking that it can happen to them.
Yep, I've never been aware of the Amish not owning their own land...there's much that is communal like the schools and the church itself, but a family runs its own farm and splits it up among the sons when the father passes (of course, when you have 5 sons, eventually everbody has a postage stamp and that's when 4 of the sons take off to Indiana.)
And income is income - the IRS isn't going to stop taxing farm income just because the farm is owned by a church - they're going to track that down.
Copycat killing.
There may be more.
The nutjob in Colorado started this.
As soon as one of these insane killings starts, nutjobs everywhere start trying to copy them.
At least the bastard was shot dead.
Thanks for stepping in, RM.
Oops.."Quakers"? Amish? What do I know anyway..(Thanks)..sw
LOL
That just leaves the 7 deadly sins.

Thank you both, for clearing that up!
Well, what could be better than Intercourse, PA?
Four patients. One deceased. Two head shots. Three remaining patients in "very critical" condition.
"I somehow DO NOT think that the Amish people do not have any problem 'Busting their kid's ass"."
Good point.
When I posted I was sure that the kid/shooter was not Amish. Now I have no idea, because I am reading all kinds of crap.
This is so sad.
However, almost 20 years ago, in my own town....a main area of our town with large supermarkets, drugstores, small eateries, shops on both sides of the road---many shoppers at all times.
..a bitter old man simply went berserk....and shot up a whole neighborhood, trapping people inside the supermarkets.....shooting/killing in front of supermarkets, drugstores on both sides of the main street...
..killing the first 2 policemen who responded...holding hostages....for hours.....many folks stranded in their cars in the parking lot.
My children & I missed the carnage by a heartbeat....I picked them up from school and we were going to the grocery store and at the last minute, drove by and didn't stop....**I can remember it so clearly!!..at the very last second, I decided not to stop!!**My husband, who worked just down the street at a large company, also started to turn in at the shopping center, but for some reason, changed his mind, and went in the opposite direction to a distant store.
..the killings happened only a few minutes later.
A pregnant woman was shot in the stomach and lost the baby....I forgot how many were killed....When my husband & I related our near misses, we were shaking....all we could do was hold each other and pray!
.. it was totally senseless.
Evil is evil.
It just seems like we have more of it lately.
