"Mistakes are made but the police are right 99% of the time."
In my house, I keep a gun close to my bed to protect my family from intruders. What would the cops have done to me when in the dead of the night I reached for my gun? 99% of the time is BULL$#!T.
SWAT teams kicking in the doors of ANYONE's house is crap.

I was a Marine ( 3 years in RECON ) so what's you point superman. You want to compare Johnsons?
To: One Proud Dad
Oh, far be it from us, mere citizens, to second guess our heavily armed para-military police force masters.
We're just too myopic to understand.

Someone else once posted the bottom of that list.
Gardeners were more likely to die on the job than police.
Chivalry is dead.

One reason I quit because of people like you second guessing every thing we did from the security of you computer.
Second guessing? I call it first guessing because there wasn't a first guess.

"
That is if you consider retirement an occupation. I consider sleeping an occupation.."
I think flea was referring to paid occupations - which, on second thought, after the lawsuit on this one sleeping just might fall on the well-paid list of occupations...

It is excellent that the entire public got involved in these discussions, not just the "experts" like you. It is excellent that you quit finding that you were not up to the public expectations.

If you were a Marine recon, you are a certified badass and I respect you sincerely.
My favorite uncle retired a Sgt Major, and was always a hero to me.

Sounds like you're saying, "I was just following orders."
Also sounds like there's no limit to the orders you'd follow.
Shame.

"The officers on the entry team are not at fault".
I guess it was the old folks fault for being at home when the jackbooted thugs decided to terrorize them?
Exactly whose fault do you think it was?

"I prefer to go home every night and not leve my safety up to arm chair QB's who haven't the nerve to do the job others do."
It takes a lot of nerve to beat up old people sleeping in their home, and then brag about the safety and comfort of your own home.

Just the mentality I expected
Marines are supposed to kill. Law enforcement officers are supposed to serve and protect.

( “Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the bible says love your enemy.”)
Anybody ever wonder why it took a constitutional amendment to ban alcohol, yet there is a 'war on drugs' without one? It's an unconstitutional war.
Cops beating up old people and shooting people 'by mistake' all because they have been *trained* to think that everyone is out to kill them. Truth be known, the 'police force' is largely a bunch of wannabe tough-guys who only get brave when the power of the state is behind them.
Legalize drugs, let the druggies kill themselves w/ cheap dope and leave everybody else alone! Zoned-out druggies are a lot less dangerous that militarized cops who think everybody else is the enemy.

Exactly whose fault do you think it was? That's just it. It's nobody's fault. It never is.
