So, here we have this guy involved in a breach of the peace, offending people with his actions, acting in a passive-aggressive manner, and this is OK by you and your libertarian cronies. I suppose you'd say that we have no right not to be offended, huh?

Sounds like something this fellow would say:

Annan Slams Cartoon Publishers

Secretary-General Annan says he cannot understand why any newspaper would publish offensive cartoons of the prophet. "It is insensitive, it is offensive, it is provocative, and they should see what has happened around the world."

Seekins says the large leaves are in support of the cause of the legalization of marijuana. He believes firmly in the usefulness of hemp, the coarse fiber of the cannabis plant, from textiles to paper products.
"People have the wrong impression about it," Seekins said.
In October, police said they found 100 plants inside Seekins' house, along with grow lights, fertilizers and portable heaters.

Like "medical" marijuana crowd, the "hemp is the best thing since sliced bread" crowd is simply trying to get marijuana legalized so that they can get stoned.

...painted his house an ugly BRIGHT pee green.

My father had a neighbor who painted her house a bright chartreuse green. Even her own family didn't like it. The color was so bright that, on sunny days, it reflected through the windows and into my father's living room. Then the woman put a new, red-tile, roof on the house.

The rest of the neighborhood really began to complain after that roof was put up. At last the woman became tired of the complaints and painted a message on her garage door. "This house will be painted white in the spring."

I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be broadcasting the fact that you're about to engage in illegal activity.

You bring up a statement but don't wish to explain yourself or stand behind it? Let me know when you decide what the good drugs are. I'll be waiting.

Initiating force to take away value from his neighbors' homes is okay as long as it involves dope. Priorities.

Then certainly you would allow a flasher to expose himself --his effect on society is no different. Correct?

Unlike recreational marijuana, hemp manufacturing is legal in other parts of the world. Despite its legality there, however, other countries choose not to grow this product in favor of cotton and synthetics.

You are correct. The hemp "movement" here is similar to the medical marijuana argument -- they're both a scam with the goal being the legalization of the recreational use of marijuana.

“He who would sacrifice liberty for safety deserves neither.”
Ben Franklin

It was a nice high - a 12oz. can of beer and about 4 hits of above average grade. I meditated in my shop, listened to some David Gilmore, lifted weights, then went in the house and the wife and I watched some "Celtic Woman". Chloe Agnew (IMHO) has the prettiest face God ever gave to a woman + she sings beautifully.

(This is some of that - "pursuit of happiness" that our founding fathers thought worth fighting for.)

So you would have no problem with a 12-year-old smoking a "harmless flower", correct? I mean, what would be your justification for prohibiting it?

First - whose 12-year-old are we talking about? I raised three that are now in their mid to late 20's.

Oh certainly. And it's important for lurkers to understand this. Especially lurkers with young and impressionable minds.

You see, there are two kinds of drug legalization advocates on FreeRepublic.

The first is the hard core leftist who is pretending to be a conservative or a libertarian. The goal of the far left is to reduce the United States from a capitalist, representative government to socialist/communist nearly anarchist state. They have a utopian vision of everyone living together in peace and harmony, living off the land, sharing food, women, free love, etc. That's why all the old hippies started communes, to be free of morals and economics of the society they hate.

The left hated that pot and other "recreational" (a term I don't use because they don't "recreate" , they destroy)drugs were illegal because it was a tool they were using to make the population apathetic and easily controlled, and thus affect the economy and the culture. They want the economy to fail so they can institute their vision. They want capitalism to fall.

The second kind of drug legalization advocate is the honest American who has been duped by the left. Since one of their tools of manipulation is illegal, they need to make it more widespread and sanctioned by the government and that means they have to make it legal. They tried the tactic of "it's our right to get high" without much success. But then they came up with "medical marijuana". Sounds great, call it a medicine and people will come to accept it. They borrowed this from the tobacco industry, who sold the medical benefits of cigarettes in the early part of the last century. Common sense again. Inhaling an untested, uncontrolled toxic burning mass of vegetable manner into your lungs causes your body to malfunction. This malfunction is called "getting high." All medical marijuana initiatives are funded by leftists, the most notorious being George Soros.

Another tactic the leftists use to dupe conservatives is to wrap up the issue in the American flag. They equate drug legalization with "freedom" and "states rights". In reality they don't care about freedom or states rights. They only care about getting pot into the hands of as many as possible.

Bottom line lurkers, don't fall for this garbage. It's the same old leftist rhetoric dressed up. It's the same old lie designed to poison your body and your mind.

Let me know in the morning, ok?

You are way too desperate to dance that same old silly dance drug warrior dance. Do you know or are you really robertpaulsen. He's another drug warrior who likes to go through the motions...over and over and over again. We both know what we were talking about due to the original subject matter of the thread... but just to throw a monkey wrench into your standard arguments about the rights of the majority over the minority and the validity of using the interstate commerce clause in the Constitution, blah, blah, blah, let's instead talk about Dimetap? (sp?). This was a fine over the counter drug that did a nice job helping me get through colds. But a few people abused it (not that it was any business of mine) so nanny-state Gov't decided to pull it from the shelf. So in a way, perhaps Dimetap was a gateway drug (another silly phrase) that will unfortunately have to lead me toward harder drugs. ;-)

OK, have a ball and see what you can do with that, shelterguy.
