paulsen bashes libertarians:

So, here we have this guy involved in a breach of the peace, offending people with his actions, acting in a passive-aggressive manner, and this is OK by you and your libertarian cronies.
I suppose you'd say that we have no right not to be offended, huh?

Tactialogic:
Pretty much any municipality will have laws against "disturbing the peace". If his actions are indeed "breaching the peace" then he could be charged under those ordinances. He's not.
Go figure.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That has always been robbies weak point; - he is unable to figure that libertarians are supporting our Constitutions rule of law; -- and he is not.
Yet you two totally ignore FR's third type, those of us who are Constitutionalists..
No I don't. I lump you in with the honest conservative who have been duped. There are plenty of issues dealing with constitutionality that you could be spending your time and effort on. How about a few hundred threads on abortion and Roe V. Wade? Abolishing Roe V. Wade would put abortion back to where it belongs, with the states. That's a real conservative issue that will save many many more lives than legalizing drugs will.
Most of us agree with JR's take on the issue; - he said: "-- I don't honestly know whether I could live with legalized drugs or not. All I'm trying to do is get a real debate started. I know that the current drug war is a colossal failure, and I know that it is destroying our Constitution. I want my rights back. All of them. Don't you? You asked a while ago, why I allow the people who are for legalized drugs to post. Well, many of them are not as nutty as you might believe. They take a purely Constitutional stand and from that viewpoint I have to agree. --"
As I said, I don't think it's the best hill to defend and die on. And if these threads were kept on a purely constitutional argument I would welcome the debate. But instead we've got the "medical" marijuana propagandists, the "hemp is great" propagandists and the juveniles who like to brag about lighting up joints and how they score pot illegally. They make Freerepublic look like a Cheech and Chong movie.
Which ignores the fact that the Constitution is being violated in an futile effort to 'control' human liberty. -- You have been duped into believing that our government is authorized by the Constitution to infringe in order to control.
There are plenty of issues dealing with constitutionality that you could be spending your time and effort on.
Few are violating our liberties worse than the drug war.
Typically, you want to control even the debate. -- And actually, if you look at most of the juvenile aspects of these debates, -- they are a direct result of the juvenile goading & trolling of certain 'warriors'; -- its even possible that their goading is a deliberate effort to make FR 'look bad'.
"Seekins is a typical 'Winsted Raggy'. By the way Winsted is Ralph Nader's home town"
Thanks for reminding me, every time Winsted makes the news it's because of some wack job. A few years back it was some guy who wrapped his entire house in plastic.
Do you believe in alcohol prohibition? If not, do you think children should be able to purchase it?
Please don't tell me your argument is passive-aggressive behavior in itself should be illegal. It would make me think you are some sort of statist mock-up.
"a harmless flower.."
Of course that also describes poppies
Please tell me you are joking. Poppies are the OPPOSITE of harmless.
So what do you think of belladonna? Do you think that is "harmless" as well?
Excellent arguement, but it will roll off of RP like water rolls off of a duck.
Stupidnatural said that marijuana was a "harmless flower". If it is indeed harmless, I asked if a 12-year-old could therefore smoke it.
I never said alcohol was harmless, and I don't think children should be able to purchase it.
"Please don't tell me your argument is passive-aggressive behavior in itself should be illegal"
I was merely asking the libertarians if public passive-aggressive behavior that is offensive to others and is a breach of the peace, yet doesn't harm others through force or fraud, should be illegal. Obviously, you don't think it should. Fine.
But the libertarians on another thread were saying that a flasher should be arrested. Why? Who did he harm through force or fraud? Doesn't his behavior have the same effect on the public as this jagoff with the spray paint?
"Please tell me you are joking. Poppies are the OPPOSITE of harmless."
Where do you think we get poppy seeds from -- I know, the store. Poppies have to be processed to get opium or heroin.
"So what do you think of belladonna? Do you think that is "harmless" as well?"
No I don't, and I never said I did.
One of RP's tactics is to compare apples and oranges and try to convince you that they are exactly the same thing.
