Only if the Democrats actually do something rather then just mouth slogans.

So where is the Democrat Party plan on Immigration?

What Legislation has Hillary, or any other Democrat, introduced on Immigration?

"What Legislation has Hillary...introduced on Immigration?"

Give her time. Trust me...she'll come up with some kind of double-talk that will at least SOUND like she's wants to close the borders.

I think the economy still stinks in Ohio. It only take 60,000 voters there to think that illegals are jeopardizing their jobs and to be fooled into believing Hillary and the Democrats are the answer.

Hillary is a fraud. But that doesn't change the fact that people are very upset with the way the Republicans are handling this issue. Don't get me wrong, I will never vote for Hillary, but I want the President and Congress to get serious and pass a tough enforcement bill.

Hard for a President in his last term to be "vulnerable", but the libs are facing desperate times..... If a dim takes the stage against the flood of illegals, won't that be against party lines? Won't they lose some minority vote? I realize that Qween Clintoon is now officially a moderate, Christian, pro-life nun with great thighs, but I'm a little lost when it comes to melding the dim party rhetoric with border sealing and tossing poor chicanos out on their keisters. Can anyone clarify their stance?

You're assuming that voters look beyond slogans. If the Democrats hammer the GOP on this, it could mean political trouble. A lot of people might just vote Democrat just as a way of showing their displeasure with the Republicans, even if they don't expect much from the Democrats.

Remember that a lot of people who are upset about illegal immigration don't necessarily have strong political opinions generally, so they won't necessarily be as repulsed by the Democrats as we are.

They can win over the independent voters, and if they play their cards right, they may even win over some moderate(uninformed) Republicans.

African Americans are very opposed to illegal immigration, according to the polls.

There are definitely a lot of people in my area who are not happy with the illegal situation. It is way, way out of control here.

I see that there are many who will vote with the candidate that promises to do something about the problem. We'll see.

NO, Johnnie, they only have to point, that we are doing nothing. They don't have to have a solution, or even make any promise, the damage will be done, just by pointing out that we have done nothing, and I guarantee you that will be enough to change the outcome of many races, including President.

Wake up, write your congress critters. I have Boxer and MoneyStien so nothing I can do. But ever call or letter I get from the Repubs, asking for money, I just answer every question with close the borders.

They must not read. According to the gov....

..... the following important numbers concerning Hispanics in the United States. The United States Census Bureau projects that the Latino population in the United States will surpass that of African Americans sometime around the year 2005. By the year 2010, the Bureau projects that 203.4 million Whites, 40.5 million Hispanics, 37.9 million Blacks, 16.2 million Asians, and 2.3 million Native Americans will live in the United States. This will result in a population that will be 67.7 percent White, 13.5 percent Hispanic, 12.6 percent Black, 5.4 percent Asian, and 0.8 percent Native American.

Seems to me that when nearly half your voting base is minority, you wouldn't want to annoy the bigger half of that group. But, that's just me.....

It would also seem that even the more "uninformed" can see a sock puppet like this. Obviously HiLIARy hasn't had a lobotomy going from "Many of you are well enough off that the tax cuts may have helped you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good" to the conservative pulpit in a year.

I don't care about the politics and the motives. Our country is in deep trouble. Bill Richardson will deserve applause if he acts as tough as he talks.
And if the Dems push the GOP into taking action--fine by me. That's what a two-party system should be about. On the other hand, if the GOP does nothing, they are risking a major comeuppance at the polls. The 2006 election will be about more than the Iraq war.
