The author lives on the freakin' border, sees the trouble every day, and is former Border Patrol. I think he knows more about the situation then you ever will.
I understand the need more people part but they keep track of us-American's.We should be able to keep track of them.I met many and we get along and they add and do not take away but it scares me that the bad guys can get in.The Liberian's came and went when things settled down and a few of them were criminals using our system.I know only because I have a thrift store.
Thanks R L.I did not read this whole thread and did not get your post:).I know I am just dumb.
Stopping the illegal immigration is one thing. Preserving "our culture" via race based immigration quotas is racism similar to the Michigan law school admissions where there were quotas for blacks. Race based quotas are wrong in both cases. And it is racism in both cases.
Maybe you want race based quotas so that Caucasians remain the 70% majority. But I argue that it is racism in its purist form. To argue otherwise is self deception and ignorance of what racism is. Racism is to discriminate based on race.
I can see why you're befuddled. Ionesco said try substituting gravity for arsen.
I'm sure that almost all of the other people missed it, as well.
I suppose I should work on my existentialist humor.
:)
Seriously though, if you look at my current tag-line, you'll notice an excerpt that was taken from "The Bald Soprano."
That is probably one of Eugene Ionesco's most renowned plays. You really should read it, if the opportunity arises.
Next to O'Neill and Beckett, Ionesco is probably my favorite 20th Century playwright.
A guest worker program will free up the border patrol to concentrate on stopping terrorists instead of having to fool with harmless gardeners.
Trying to get through the DeVinci File's-we are getting off topic and noboday here on this very heavy thread will like that R L:)
I recall gangs headed by guys named Capone, Luciano, Gambino, O'Banion, Weiss, and Lansky."
If we're to believe Law Enforcement, there is a HUGE contingent of Mexican gangs who are in the United States illegally. IN THE HERE AND NOW.
Now even if you ridiculously choose to compare Mexican street "gangs" to the organized gangs of Capone, Luciano, and Gambino decades ago -- which were comparatively minuscule in number -- at least they were in this country legally. Capisci?
And for your information -- while Capone and Luciano were doing their thing, MY family -- along with 500,000 other Italian-Americans -- were fighting, bleeding, and dying in the Pacific and Europe during WWII just so YOU can open you big mouth today here in America.
Que means cheese, right? So the answer's Moose?
NO.
Let me ask you this, someone says the demographics of the US must not change and I say the only way to do that is to have race based quotas on both immigration and/or births and I further say that race based quotas are racism. Tell me where I am a hypocrite or a liar.
(Apologetic Smiley.)
-good times, G.J.P.(Jr.)
Yes but and this is what I don't understand. Is there much of the border that does not have patrols and how do the border patrols hand out a guest thing-how do we know who the bad guys are?
Nobody
"From reading your posts, you seem to be justifying illegal behavior. "
Read his last 300 posts. He never distinguishes between illegals and Americans in America. Don't waste your time.
My Congressman's office had no details on the Administration's "guest worker" plan the last time I asked them about this situation.
I hate to direct this to the one guest worker supporter who stuck around and presented substantive arguments while the other supporters littered the thread with invective and drove on. (No, I didn't read the entire thread so maybe there were some other respectable comments but I did read about five hundred replies and found no others.)
So knowing that it's near closing time and lights are starting to come up on this thread I'll just ask anyone, What about those who do own homes and businesses, have good jobs, families? Won't the guest worker plan have to make exceptions for them?
And that begs an embarrassing question, doesn't that mean the plan is a failure from the start?
To wit, are Americans going to be asked if they want those jobs the undocumented workers have held for years? I thought Americans had to be asked first then the search for "willing workers" began. There are other questions such as what of undocumented immigrant home owners?
The Department of Homeland Security has taken over and set up the Customs and Border Patrol to stop terrorists and WMDs from entering, while facilitating the flow of people and goods across the borders.
Try their link. They have a fascinating website.
