Dig a little deeper into your Websters, and you will get an education you missed.
Caucasoid adj [From the erroneous notion that the original home of the hypothetical Indo-Europeans was the Caucasus.]
Don't feel too badly, it's a common source of confusion. As meant earlier in the thread by another confused freeper, "from the caucasus" and "Caucasian" (white race) are commonly mixed up. The earlier confused freeper said words to the effect that fair and pale white-skinned Chechen "Caucasians" would stick out among darker Latino border crossers.
Don't worry, it's a common source of confusion. You're not the first, and won't be the last, to mix up the common racial meaning of "Caucasian" (white European) and "from the Caucasus region," ie, dark swarthy Chechens.
In fact, do you know what Russians call Chechens? Black asses.

""even though the Soviet Union did it"
I was right. You are an idiot. The Soviets couldn't even seal the Berlin Wall, nevermind their own border."
Really, at what point in history was the Soviet border porous to the tune of thousands of illegal crossings nightly? The Berlin wall was effective until the end.
No one is suggesting the seal would be perfect, but you would let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
Border security must come from the determined application of a multi faceted strategy which includes technology, intelligence, in depth patrols, economic disincentives, punishment, and yes, increased patrols.
The idea is not to achieve a hermetic seal but to force terrorists to become more sophisticated so that they become vulnerable in recruiting and communicating to our technology and increasing human spies.
We are calling for a "broken windows" theory of border security which has proved so effective in regular law enforcement.

What is your point? That the Mexican border, where millions are crossing at will, routinely, from one of the most corrupt countries on earth, during war time yet, is not a national security threat to every single American?

Sure, no border can be sealed 100.0000% tight. Even a (very) few made it over the East German Inner Border during the Cold War.
That does not excuse a limp posture of "Oh well, since we can't get to 100%, we might as well settle for the present 20% stop-rate."
Letting a million unchecked foreigners stroll into the country IN WARTIME is criminal.
After we suffer a Beslan, and the footprints lead to the border, you will see then what can be done! To bad we won't learn this until AFTER we suffer a Beslan...or worse.

Actually, I was defending Travis, not based on one single post, but his overall reputation. You, on the other hand seem to be a big government, open borders Republican. It's hard not to see this in your posts. I hate big government spending and I hate probably more than you do, both illegel and LEGAL immigration. I just think that being lead around by our noses by the MSM is not how to decide things. Most likely this report is B.S.
As far as Travis goes, he full well earned my response for that ONE post. I've made no other similar response to any of his other posts over the years -- and I've been reading posts a long time.
You on the other hand Joe, are wrong, early and often.
To: nathanbedford
Oh baloney. No it isn't the terrorists you are worried about and we all know it. Terrorists will go to any length to enter the country, wall or no wall, militarized borders or not. This "outrage" has NOTHING to do with terrorists and I would have more respect for those that advocate "closing the borders" if they would not use terrorism to hide behind. It is the same tactic pot users use when advocating medical pot.

I currently reside in Arizona. This is a problem (the border) and needs to be addressed in a 2nd term. Having said that, first things first, we have a debate to win.

Nobody's tried building a foot bridge made out of yellow brick to the Moon either. It's relatively impossible, since the Moon is in constant orbit around the Earth.

What I did say was that Chechens can best be decribed as Caucasian in both looks and location.
