Ya, I for one will make more appearances - why not!?
I'll contribute a few...here's 3
I'll contribute a few...here's 4
I'll contribute a few...here's 5
Why not, indeed.
"Another little ping toward extinction.
Hi grrrrrrrrls, I like the desert in Palm Springs, CA, beautiful, lovely, wonderful and the ocean is just a couple of hours away. I lived in LA-Santa Monica for 10 wonderful terrific years and enjoyed many weekend jaunts to "the Springs." Now a good friend has moved there and is begging me to come join the fun. Might just do it! I live in the gloomy NW now and basicallly remain depressed 6 months of every year. This place is NO FUN."
Awww...
It sounds like you have SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) which is rampant in my family. I love the desert and daylight, and I know it is "in my blood" but some of my family members seem to think Alaska, Washington, Minnesota and Colorado are all places to be. On the other hand, they can't seem to understand why winter/snow/rain depresses them...
Head for the sun! Wait till I get settled and and we'll talk!
Sonny's widow, Mary Bono, is US congresswoman from Palm Springs now. A RINO, she refused to attend the GOP national convention in NY because Palm Springs is home to so many gays. Cute photo of her and her son with President Bush at her web page: http://www.house.gov/bono/
"My great aunt in Missouri had one of those old washers ... I remember doing the wash with her when I was a kid."
I'm not at liberty to discuss wringer washers, but I hate them.
ok, if it is from stress, and you do yoga, then the following should be easy:
lie down on your back
close your eyes
fold your hands on your belly
breathe deeply and naturally against the weight of your hands
don't "try to clear your mind" - that's lunacy, like "don't think of a white horse". Just feel your breathing as thoroughly as you can
eventually your thoughts will fade
you will feel your own heart
project the awareness of your pulse down into your extremities
bring that awareness slowly back to your center
you should be left very very calm.
But I wasn't near enough to hear ya! :-(
Cats and dogs differ, one from the other, and so do people.
Dangerous or not, cats would be kept as pets. Folks just have a fascination with their independence, their supple, feline grace.
And all of our pets are neutered. NnSue tried to talk me into it, too.
"Mi casa es NicknamedSue's casa!"
(It's probably very good that you realize this...)
"speaking of old appliances, I wish I had a working mangle iron..."
I wish you would have told me so a few years ago...that's what our housekeeper used to iron the sheets...I would have GIVEN that thing to you!
"Overdosing on Arizona scenery is called AR-scenic poisoning."
No, honey: It's AZenic poisoning. ARsenic poisoning is going through Willy's libary.
The trouble with neutering cats, as my oul man pointed out, is that you pay 40 for the job, and the very next day, could very well get melded to the road by a car!
"Figured I'd snag me one of those before this thread goes under..."
Good for YOU!
I will promise not to pounce only if you show up more often. (The only thing worse than my pounce is my wet, sloppy "Auntie Kiss"!)
*Deal with it!*
How do you see it on old threads?
u mus b proud ov wat u acheevd 4 urself
