I think we should all give Rush the same understanding and sympathy that we know he would extend to anyone else that was found to be addicted to drugs and buying them illegally for years... Nah, I think the libertarians (some of whom proudly announce they are potheads - as if they expect a medal) should be consistent and defend Rush the same way they defend upstanding gentlemen like Ozzy and Tommy Chong. With that said, I read Tommy Chong's statement regarding his situation vs. Rush's, and Chong showed more class that all the libertarians here put together.

When Rush has been convicted of something Illegal in a Court of Law, then I will make my judgement.
Until that time he is innocent.

Yes, I have. Using medication to alleviate pain (even long term) and being addicted to medications are two different things. I don't understand that difference. No where would I suggest someone needing medication is a problem, but addiction is always a problem, IMHO.

Of course, no one was hurt by his use of many pain killer drugs. But that is true of millions of other drug users as well. People were hurt by the climate of punishment for harmless actions that Rush supported for most of his career. Yes! And he's now got 2 choices:
1) While there's still time, he can confess and repent to the victims of his crimes, and immediately get to work on proving that he is one of Jesus' disciples by loving his maggot infested neighbors instead of voting for and cheerleading for politicians who snoop on and send his maggot infested neighbors up the river for mere vices.
or 2) Wait until the Final Judgement to learn an eternal conservative lesson about what taking responsibility for one's behavior is really all about.

A Message to Mike Graham:
What do you suggest we do regarding Rush ? -
Perhaps, we could all start blogs and maybe some of us could get syndicated by using his popularity to puff our ratings.
Ever think of that one Mike??

Why is it Rush's responsibility to come to their defense? "He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself"--Thomas Paine
One would think that the truth of Paine's old statement above proving itself directly on the liberty of Rush Limbaugh would jolt some sense and humanity into a few "conservatives." But so far nearly all fall into 1 of 2 groups: 1) Its a vast left wing conspiracy. 2) send him up the river along with the maggot infested druggies too.
Amazing. Thomas Paine is spinning in his grave.

Just FYI you can be adicted and be completly within the confines of the law.
Out of curiosity, do you believe Rush when his lawyer states Rush was being blackmailed (for whatever) by the maid and her husband? Perhaps believe is too strong, but given the situation, if this is true I think the next criminal investigation should be the prosecutor for not doing a complete investigation of the accusers.

Almost as sad as their silence about Dick Simkanin and Joseph Banister! Yes! What are the chances that this little lesson in libertarian karma will jolt Rush into telling all of his ditto-heads to sneak on juries all across America and vote not guilty in every drug and income tax case they can find? So far the scandal seems not to have even dented Rush's and his ditto-heads' authoritarian character armor.

LOL! Limbaugh isn't using drugs anymore so I seriously doubt he wants to drive down his audience to libertarian levels.

We should not make the mistake made by the Rats in defending Clinton Uh could you show me the video or audio clip of Rush pointing his finger at me and saying, "I did not have addictive relations with that woman, oxycontin"

This a*****e goes from "silence" to "defending him" in one easy rat step. Pretending he likes and has supported Rush is a pretty transparent strategy.
I have not seen anyone "defending" Rush or any other drug user, either on FR or anywhere else. Speaking of drug users, there are drug users and drug users.
Does this ding dong want to have a "your drug users are worse than my drug users" contest? He should be careful what he wishes for.
I wish I were a "conservative" so I could feel the need to respond in detail. But since I'm not I'll just ignore the 'Rat slime machine.

Well, I'll speak to your post since I'm not a ditto-head, but casual listener to Rush Limbaugh.
Drug abusers and income tax cheater should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Since this is a first case scenario for Rush, I'd imagine he'll get probation and some community service.
Your comments about Rush and authoritarian personalities seems misplaced. Rush is for less government and more freedom.
To: CWOJackson
Limbaugh isn't using drugs anymore so... he doesn't have to start defending the rights of the maggot infested druggies and income tax resisters? The vast left wing conspiracy is going to take all of his audience away and still y'all are so thick that you're going to have to wait to learn your lessons in personal responsibility at the Final Judgement. But then its going to be too late.

"...he doesn't have to start defending the rights of the maggot infested druggies and income tax resisters?"
Sure he would, because if he's not using drugs he would realize that playing to the lp crowd would reduce his audience to lp listeners quickly. I think he'd prefer to keep his current market share.
