Some want to prevent a civil war, Democrats want to provoke it - All in the name of saving democracy
Washington Times ^ | 28 Apr, 2024 | Don Feder

The left says there’s a civil war brewing, a conflict whose roots it finds in parents angry about LGBTQ indoctrination in the schools, pro-life protesters and the Jan. 6 fiasco, but not in the orgy of Black Lives Matter/antifa violence of 2020, chaos at the border, anarchy in the streets of our cities or the pro-Hamas mobs swarming over college campuses.

The fact that “Civil War” is the most popular movie in the country shows that audiences will swallow any absurdity as long as it’s sufficiently coated with graphic violence.

“Civil War” is about a future conflict that pits secessionist states, improbably led by Texas and California, against those loyal to the national government, mostly in the Northeast.

The film’s director and screenwriter, Alex Garland, won’t tell us what led to the carnage. A Brit, Mr. Garland knows as much about U.S. politics as I do about Ethiopian architecture.

He recently told an interviewer, “Extremism encourages extremism, and extremism is dangerous.” So, extremism is wrong, right? And in the words of Emil Faber — founder of the fictional college in “Animal House” — “Knowledge is good.”

Mr. Garland warns that extremism “is not abstractly dangerous. It’s dangerous in a really concrete, serious way,” which is about as deep as “Mairzy Doats.”

Like extremism, insurrection is in the eye of the beholder. The left is leading an insurrection against the Constitution. Instead of guns and bullets, it’s using the institutions of government to overthrow the republic.

President Biden, who looks like a walking cadaver, is digging a grave for representative government.

The president has decided he can ignore any laws or rulings he doesn’t like. The Supreme Court told him he lacked the authority to cancel student loan debt. But he does it anyway.

It’s not about democracy. It’s about the constitution. That is what the oath of office is sworn to. Not democracy

Talk about the great replacement. Geeze.

Nor is ANY form of Leftism, yet there’s a good size gaggle of “Don’t you dare touch *my* S.S. I ‘paid into’”

Same call for the abolition of the DoEd, but would prob. balk if/when they’d need to pay for the SERVICE of educating their own brood (no way do MOST property taxpayers cover the $15k/yr avg.)

Our Constitutional Republic is a dangerous immediate threat to “their democracy”.

“Democrats want to provoke it”

Coming from the folks that want to disarm law abiding citizens? I wonder who the army that will fight and win that war for them consists of? The UN?

It’s been a topic for quite a long time — if the US had a civil war in the 21st century, what would it look like?

Obviously, there would not be a block of 11 Southern states seceding. There would not be armies of Blue and Gray taking the field. So what would a civil war look like today?

In my opinion, we’re in it now. And it looks like today. The Democrats have thrown out the free press, honest elections, the oath of office, and just about all of the Constitution. That’s how they’re fighting our current civil war.

And our silly GOP (AKA the opposition party) is busy quoting John Paul Jones — “We have not yet begun to fight”.

But Trump is fighting. And eventually our side will adopt our own modern tactics. But I think the Civil War has already begun.

Marxists and Fascists think they can provoke the right into a civil war. They will continue to ignore the Constitution. They will prop themselves up by election interference, election tampering, and illegal voting. Sooner or later something will have to give. Be aware, that the left expects other nations, like China, will rally behind them and support them.

They plan to destroy the US. They are getting close to their goal. The idiots continue to agree with.

Liberals are shoving Conservatives to the wall and intentionally spoiling for a confrontation

If the worst thing happens like that, it’s the golden opportunity they have been planning for decades.

Then, they can demonize Conservatives and go full bore for their great ‘reset’.

BTW...it’s not an original technique. All despots in all time have done just THIS. Educated people have no doubts about this

“Democracy = Communist Dictatorship”

Thanks for saying that. We have far, far too much democracy.

We have devolved into ochlocracy, something the founders tried, but failed to protect against. Now there is no turning back.

Ochlocracy will be replaced, and soon, by the benevolent dictator.

The Left’s creeping Revolution culminated in Obama’s election. What we’ve been witnessing since is the Revolution in power - the campaign against Trump, the DEI regime, the riots and demonstrations, the illegal alien invasion, the criminal onslaught, all of it. What we need is a conscious, relentless, merciless counterrevolution. Because right now we’re still losing.

We have been in a civil war for quite some time. Being too polite to admit has put us at a disadvantage in a war of total extermination.
