NFL Brass Rejects Player's Traditional Values [semi-satire]
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 19 May 2024 | John Semmens

Posted on 05/18/2024 10:22:01 AM PDT by John Semmens

This week, Harrison Butker, a player on the Kansas City Chiefs football team gave a commencement speech at Benedictine College--a small Catholic liberal arts college in Atchison, Kansas. In this speech Butker said to the women graduates "some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world."

USA Today featured a column denouncing Butker's "extremist, Neanderthal views." On ABC's The View, the panelists chastised Butker for "not following the example of Jesus, who as those familiar with the Bible know shunned marriage, hung out with a group of men--some of whom deserted wives and families--and traveled around the Holy Land bumming food and shelter from working people." Change.org circulated a petition asking the Kansas City Chiefs to cut Butker from the team. And an as yet unidentified Kansas City municipal employee doxxed Butker so that people angered by his speech could visit him personally to rebut his "heresies."

While Butker's words seem well within the scope of traditional Catholic values, the National Football League's senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer, Jonathan Beane hurried to distance the NFL from its content, saying "Mr. Butker's views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The blame and the shame are entirely his. While there are no current plans to expel him from the league, as some have demanded, we cannot rule this out if public outrage forces our hand."

In related news, sales of Butker's #7 team jersey have surged. On-hand supplies have reportedly sold out, but the jerseys can still be obtained on back order for those willing to wait.

If the MFL did not denounce Colon Kapernick then they make themselves look like Bud Light fans to comment on this.

He was right. According to Pew Research: of the top 20 degrees held by women 96% of them are in Early Childhood Education. And the only degree area women are competitive with men is Health and Medical Preparatory Programs...nursing and doctor.

So the statement by the numbers was correct but was not campy. And it being an election year, of course some news agency would use him like a bad prostitute to make points about the women hating man, or vis versa, when facts will be pushed out of the way. Trump is far more “man” than Biden. And I’ll bet you never heard of Atchinson, Kansas, or Benedictine College before this. Bad fishing expedition using spoiled bait. And they think the fish are that hungry so they force feed them.

As a kicker his job is to block out everything while the game is decided in the final seconds. By blocking out everything it includes criticism by higher-ups. Whatever happened to question authority?

I already received the message loud and clear from the NFL a long time ago and their priorities are incompatible with my own.

“Whatever happened to question authority?”

In my post I presented numbers from Pew Research that validated Butker’s statement.

From the article:

“While Butker’s words seem well within the scope of traditional Catholic values, the National Football League’s senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer, Jonathan Beane hurried to distance the NFL from its content, saying “Mr. Butker’s views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The blame and the shame are entirely his. While there are no current plans to expel him from the league, as some have demanded, we cannot rule this out if public outrage forces our hand.”

Pro sports are not run by private enterprize people following rules. In pro football the owners make the rules and are contractually over demanding of the teams, players, team followers, officials, and in certain cases, the fans. They are the kings and queens of the sport and do whatever they want to make a buck. And that’s where it stops.

*The blame and the shame are entirely his.*
like he’s gonna back down?

*While there are no current plans to expel him from the league, as some have demanded, we cannot rule this out if public outrage forces our hand.”*

Sounds like a make my day moment. If so he should double down.
He’s already made $18 million so far. He doesn’t need the NFL.
