There are protected classes, and then there are protected classes. One of the first tells that a person feels they belong to a special group who deserve privileges not normally afforded to the peasants milling in everyday life around their feet occurs when questions arise concerning something that same person allegedly either did or said. A "something" has taken place which, for whatever reason, has caused people to look in a certain direction for answers to any one - or all - of the who, why, how, what, etc. interrogatives. Or simply looking for clarification. Oftentimes, the answer is simple,...

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is suspending her presidential campaign, a source familiar with the decision tells NBC News, a bitter blow for a senator who was long seen by prominent Democrats as headed for the White House. The decision ends a frantic year of campaigning for a candidate who branded herself as a progressive fighter from humble beginnings who was ready to take on a broken and corrupt system.

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Elizabeth Warren says she has more than 1,000 campaign staffers in 31 states and 100-plus field offices, a show of organizational strength her campaign promises will lift her to the Democratic presidential nomination and hurt President Donald Trump’s chances in key battlegrounds in November. The Massachusetts senator vows that her campaign will be organized in all 57 states and territories before the Democratic National Convention in July. In the meantime, it’s looking beyond Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina, which open the primary, and “Super Tuesday” on March 3 when more than a dozen states...

Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders, stung by a feud with progressive ally Elizabeth Warren over gender and electability, released an ad aimed at U.S. women voters on Friday touting his support for women’s rights. Ahead of a weekend trip to New Hampshire, the second state to vote in the Democratic presidential nominating race next month, the ad highlights Sanders’ support for equal pay, abortion rights, paid family leave and affordable child care. “Bernie Sanders is on our side and always has been,” the female narrator says in the ad, which the campaign said would air in New Hampshire along with...

Philadelphia’s new police commissioner is aware of what she represents in being the first black woman named to head the force. But she said she was also the first black woman to do the last job she held, and for a long time, “it was a distraction.” “I’ve been a black woman all my life, and I’ve chosen the career of law enforcement," said Danielle Outlaw, the Portland, Ore., police chief named Monday to lead the Philadelphia Police Department. She added: “I do not take lightly the fact that I am the first here … I understand who opened doors...

An MSNBC guest questioned the intelligence of Trump voters on Friday, asking if anyone who attended President Trump's rally in Manchester, N.H., can "point out Greenland on a map?" On Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump has asked his advisers whether the U.S. can acquire Greenland, an autonomous Danish territory, during "meetings, dinners, and passing conversations" because of Greenland's "abundant resources and geopolitical importance." However, "The Beat" managing editor Tiffany Cross expressed concern when she heard that "the descendants of colonizers" are flimsily considering "taking land from indigenous people." "This is something, you know his supporters are like...

Does this clueless woman have no judgment? Does she have no shame? In the 1990s, Warren self-described herself as a “woman of color”. There is a 1997 Fordham Law Review article in which Warren is described as Harvard’s Law faculty, first woman of color. The footnote at the end of the article, because law review articles are rigorously researched and fact-checked for accuracy, refers to a conversation had with the news director of Harvard Law School, in August 1996, which confirms in Harvard Law’s view that Warren is a woman of color.
