It only kills people like Dean Barnett. Not nearly progressive enough. Cystic fibrosis “has been recently revealed to only affect white people, and primarily men” said the motion read to student councillors, who voted almost unanimously in favour of it… Carleton students have fanned out across the city near the beginning of the school year to raise money to fight the illness for years. But according to the motion read Monday night to student councillors, “all orientees and volunteers should feel like their fundraising efforts will serve the their (sic) diverse communities.”… “I think they see this, in their own...

OTTAWA -- The Carleton University Students' Association has voted to drop a cystic fibrosis charity as the beneficiary of its annual Shinearama fundraiser, supporting a motion that argued the disease is not "inclusive" enough. Cystic fibrosis "has been recently revealed to only affect white people, and primarily men" said the motion read Monday night to student councillors, who voted almost unanimously in favour of it.

Whomever the Democratics nominate this time, it will be a first: It will NOT be a white male (unless you count Barry as half-white or Hillary as ha--uh, let's not go there). Identity Politics has driven the Democrat race. Guilt-wracked whites, wanting to appear enlightened, have supported the clean and articulate Magic Negro. They were joined finally by blacks, when Bill's dismissive South Carolina comments made them decide Barack was black enough. Meanwhile, old feminist teacher-union types have been supporting Hillary!. But Identity Politics will not be enough to win in November. In order to succeed, the Dem candidate...

WASHINGTON - In the fierce campaign between Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, a battle dominated by issues of race and gender, white men have emerged as perhaps the single critical swing constituency. The competition for the support of white men, particularly those defined as working class, will shape the showdown between Clinton and Obama in Pennsylvania's Democratic presidential primary April 22. Obama of Illinois won majorities among those voters in what appeared to be breakthrough victories in Wisconsin and Virginia last month. But he badly lost working-class white men to Clinton, of New York, in Ohio and Texas two...

A fire brigade has been accused of pursuing a policy of discrimination after it excluded white men from part of a recruitment drive. Only women and people from ethnic minorities are allowed to attend four of the five open days being held by Avon Fire Service to attract new recruits. The brigade has been criticised after recruitment days were restricted to women and ethnic minorities The fire brigade said it was targeting specific groups because currently 97 per cent of its 921 employees are white men. But MPs, serving firefighters and race relations groups questioned whether it was acting illegally...

Republican congressional candidate Van Taylor may have broken a record for a campaign commercial. Category: crowding the most brown faces into one frame of TV time. True, they are sort of bled of their brown in the picture, bled also of their humanity. They represent the hordes invading our land to clean our hotel rooms, make meals for us, harvest our crops and in general make our lives, um, livable. Not to dismiss the problem of immigration reform. It's serious business Congress has left undone too long. But to judge the election-year offensive about illegal immigrants, you'd think we were...

<p>The Pilgrims and the Mayflower also are excluded, as well as the word "war," which has been replaced with "conflict" in lessons about the early settlers, colonization and expansion.</p>
<p>Also gone are most references to the inhumane treatment many American soldiers endured in wars overseas during the 20th century. However, the standards specifically note that students should identify slavery, the Holocaust and modern Iraq as examples "i n which people have behaved in cruel and inhumane ways."</p>

Thirty years ago, New Haven, Conn., civil rights lawyer John R. Williams thrust himself into the public eye representing Black Panther Party defendants. His latest cause, however, is that of a white male lawyer who claims state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal passed him over for a promotion due to an affirmative action program. The attorney general's position is that plaintiff Harold H. Burbank II was not hired as an assistant attorney general -- after years as a paralegal for the office -- because other candidates were more qualified. "They claim," Williams argued in his brief opposing Blumenthal's summary judgment motion...

The Jan. 28th edition of the Washington Times reports that "George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin are not included in the revised version of the New Jersey Department of Education history standards. The Pilgrims and the Mayflower also are excluded, as well as the word 'war,' which has been replaced with 'conflict' in lessons about the early settlers, colonization and expansion." The educrats and shallow politicians may not like to admit it, but there is a war going on in education, and New Jersey, the location of Washington's great revolutionary victories at Trenton and Princeton, is among the battlefronts. ...
