Media Yawn at Obama and Biden Snubbing Auschwitz Anniversary; Mocked Cheney’s Appearance in 2005 By Curtis Houck | January 28, 2015 Tuesday marked the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and, naturally, the event attracted plenty of media coverage. In addition to each of the three major networks devoting segments to it on their evening newscasts, the Associated Press, The New York Times, and The Washington Post and published stories on the topic. Over on cable, CNN covered it multiple times throughout the day for a total of 10 minutes and 27 seconds worth of airtime. At the other...

Too strange for fiction. At least it didn’t run through the front door of the White House and into the East Room while Secret Service agents figured, no worries, the shrubs will stop it. Because that would never happen. Oh . . . CBS News was one of the first to report it:

NEW DELHI, India — A "device" was found on the lawn of the White House, President Barack Obama's press secretary said Monday. Josh Earnest confirmed the discovery during a briefing on Obama's trip to India. He said the device did not pose any immediate threat.

While too much of the nation's attention is focused on Representative Anthony Weiner (D-New York) and his sex/lying scandal, President Barack Obama is at the White House welcoming one of the most corrupt leaders on earth. President Ali Bongo of the West Central African nation of Gabon is being touted by administration officials as an "important ally" while those who know his background say he is guilty of "grand theft nation".

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) predicted that Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee in 2016 and that she will win the presidency. Appearing on MSNBC's "Andrea Mitchell Reports," Pelosi was asked if Clinton will be the nominee and if she can win the election. "Yes, yes," Pelosi responded. Pelosi was then asked about Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), the choice of some liberals, and concerns that Clinton is too close to Wall Street. "Well, your question was do I believe she's the presumed nominee and will she win if she runs," Pelosi said. "If the secretary runs, I believe...

Capitalizing once again on Vice President Joe Biden's infamous hot-mic gaffe from 2010, a White House video promoting President Obama's Tuesday night State of the Union speech closes with "IT'S A BFD."

A rapper who shared a photo of Malia Obama on social media joked in an interview that the White House might be tapping his phone. Joey Bada$$, who is a member of the Brooklyn-based group, discussed the photo on New York radio station Hot 97 in an interview posted Friday. "What's so special about this girl in this shirt?" the hip-hop artist said on the station's "Ebro in the Morning" show, recalling when he first saw the photo. "I didn't know who it was. The picture wasn't the clearest quality." The Pro Era member said as soon as he read...

Following the pattern he set as a senator, President Obama tends to vote “present” on any number of things — on the threat of the Islamic State, on border security, on Benghazi, and on Afghanistan. Yet, his latest “present” vote — refusing to go to Paris for the march standing up for free speech in the face of Islamic intimidation — may be the most infuriating yet. And, according to the rather ironically named White House press secretary Josh Earnest, there wasn’t any pressing reason that prevented the president from going. The press secretary confirmed that Obama spent one of...

White House press secretary Josh Earnest explained today why the U.S. won’t join France in declaring war on radical Islamists. He also elaborated a bit on what the February summit on violent extremism will cover other than Islamic extremism. “James von Brunn is somebody who in 2009, June of 2009, less than a mile from where we stand right now, went to the Holocaust Museum and shot a security guard in pursuit of some radical violent ideology,” Earnest told reporters at the daily briefing. “Back in 2012, an individual, Wade Michael Page, carried out an assault against a Sikh temple...

I’m still trying to figure out why Obama — or any high-level U. S. government official other than Eric Holder, who was in Paris but evidently had better things to do — didn’t join the nearly 4 million people who marched throughout France protesting the terror killings at #CharlieHebdo and the Hyper Cacher market. White House press secretary Josh Earnest has admitted [1] the mistake and apologized (perhaps a little wishy-washily, but we’ll give him a pass), informing us that, unfortunately, there just wasn’t enough time to arrange presidential security for the trip. That’s interesting. Somehow there was time for...

Leftist and Islamic supremacist demonization of the police bears bitter fruit. The NYPD Cop-Killing: The Chickens Come Home to RoostPosted By Robert Spencer On December 23, 2014 @ 12:40 am In Daily Mailer,FrontPage | 17 Comments When Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley murdered NYPD Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu as they ate lunch in their patrol car last Saturday, the only people who could possibly have been surprised were those who have not realized how assiduously Leftist and Muslim activists have worked – long before the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner — to demonize the NYPD and law enforcement...

To make the White House more secure from undocumented visitors who are just seeking the same kind of freedom to be harassed by a government agency with guns that all Americans enjoy, a blue ribbon panel is suggesting that a better fence be built around the White House. “An executive summary of the review released Thursday by the Homeland Security Department,” reports the Associated Press, “also concluded that the Secret Service needs more uniformed officers and plain clothes agents, better fencing at the White House and more training for officers.” The report comes on the heels of several undocumented visits...

The Department of Homeland Security released an executive summary of its report on the Secret Service moments ago. The report recommends that the U.S. government replace the entire fence surrounding the perimeter of the White House. The report was drafted after a fence-jumper made it into the White House in September, prompting a congressional hearing and the resignation of Secret Service Director Julia Pierson. Officials for the DHS declined to say in the report “precisely what the optimal new fence should look like,” but offered some suggestions. “A number of common-sense improvements should be explored. For sure, the fence must...

From today's White House briefing... CNN's JIM ACOSTA: You're not ruling it out? EARNEST: I guess the point is that the president has had the leaders of both Burma and China to the United States and for that reason I wouldn't rule out a visit from President Castro.

The White House insists that the public break between President Obama and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) over a government funding bill won't damage the relationship between the two top Democrats. "The president has always had not just a good working relationship but an open line of communication with Leader Pelosi, and that didn’t change yesterday, and it’s not going to change in the future," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said on Friday. Earnest said Obama values Pelosi because she has proven more persuasive to her members "than I think probably any other leader in either party in...

A controversial Obama administration rating system for colleges and universities already is being scrutinized ahead of its late-December rollout by educators who claim the government’s goal of more transparency could come at the expense of schools that don't happen to fit the ivory tower model. The federal government, with its long-awaited rating system, is trying to hold the country’s 7,000 colleges and universities accountable not only to taxpayers, but also to prospective students trying to weigh the pros and cons of different institutions. But it has many in the education community on edge. Several colleges and education associations have launched...

The defeat of Democratic senator Mary Landrieu by Republican representative Bill Cassidy in last weekend’s Louisiana runoff ends an election year that has been very successful for Republicans — and has implications for 2016. Some observations: (1) Democrats relied heavily on legacy candidates — and lost nevertheless. Mary Landrieu’s father, Moon Landrieu, was elected to the Louisiana legislature in 1960 and as mayor of New Orleans in 1970 and 1974. Her father’s anti-segregationist legacy helped Mary Landrieu appeal to black voters and win narrow victories in 1996, 2002, and 2008. It wasn’t enough in 2014. Other defeated Democratic candidates this...

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on Thursday held a conference call with government agencies and departments to prepare them for a possible shutdown, as the House struggles to pass a funding bill. "Congress is taking a series of actions today on legislation that would prevent a lapse in appropriations and allow for continued Government operations. We continue to believe that time remains for Congress to pass full-year appropriations for FY 2015, and prevent a government shutdown," an OMB official said in a statement. "However, out of an abundance of caution, we are working with agencies and taking steps...
