<p>NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Snow is falling in the New Orleans area.</p> <p>The National Weather Service says a mixture of sleet and snow is falling Thursday morning from Baton Rouge east across much of southeastern Louisiana.</p> <p>The winter weather closed some schools and created hazardous driving conditions.</p>

Posting from Ground Zero of a major storm that is now striking the Northeastern portion of the US. Snow is currently falling somewhere between 2 to 4 inches per hour. Reports of thunder and lightening have also been received. Conditions deteriorated rapidly about an hour ago. The birds are lined up 3 deep at one of the feeders. They are ignoring the new tube feeder I set outside yesterday in anticipation of this storm. This may be the result of too many locals signing "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas."
