Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is not waiting until after the presidential election to launch a bid to put one of former President Donald Trump’s ideas into effect. Cruz has introduced the No Tax on Tips Act that would keep the Internal Revenue Service from taking a slice of the income service workers gain through tips, according to a news release on Cruz’s website. During a recent rally in Las Vegas, Trump indicated he opposes taxes on tips, according to The Hill.

Anti-Israel protesters have taken over a building at Columbia University in New York City after reportedly holding hostages briefly. The occupation of Hamilton Hall at about 1 a.m. Tuesday came hours after the college said it would suspend students who refused to leave a tent encampment, according to the New York Post. The initial burst to seize the academic building came while some facilities workers were still inside, according to the Columbia Spectator, the university’s student newspaper. The protesters allowed them out then re-sealed the building with barricades. One worker yelled, “They held me hostage,” according to the Columbia Spectator....

The numbers are in — Americans do not want illegal immigrants in the country any longer. An online survey conducted by Axios asked 6,251 adults in between March 29 and April 14 whether they support “mass deportations of undocumented immigrants.51 percent of Americans supported the idea. While perhaps 51 percent — a slight majority — may not seem like a lot, it does when looking at the general picture. This wasn’t a survey asking about border security or funding or separating families. It was a survey asking whether respondents agreed with mass deportation, something many people would have considered extreme...

A campaign aide for Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia got hilariously shut down by a Republican who debunked the sham left-wing talking points she tried to push during their phone call. Dom Lucre, the former state director of the Tennessee branch of Blexit (“black exit” from the Democratic Party), tweeted a video of himself debating the leftist activist who had called to try to persuade him to vote for Warnock in the senator’s forthcoming runoff election against Republican Herschel Walker. “So Senator Warnock’s campaign called me, A TN Resident to Vote in his GA election,” Lucre tweeted on Saturday....

One of the comforting fictions conservatives are increasingly tempted to tell themselves is that if they just move to a red state or county, the insanity of the woke left won’t affect them and their family. Ensconced in safely Republican communities, perhaps they’ll be free not just from disastrous Democrat policies but also from the pernicious sexual propaganda of the left. For conservatives with children, this is especially important. But it’s a mirage. There is no American town or hamlet remote or red enough to prevent the infiltration of leftist ideology, which today often comes from institutions that in an...

The Biden administration has removed only a small fraction of the number of illegal immigrants that previous administrations did, a top U.S. immigration official acknowledged during a recent deposition. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody pointed to the testimony as evidence that Biden’s team is “intentionally under-enforcing federal immigration law in a way that has never been seen.” GUARD: “In 2012, a decade ago, under President Obama, ICE removed almost eight times or, excuse me, almost seven times the number of aliens [that] the Biden administration did in either 2021 or 2022, right?” PRICE: “That appears correct.” GUARD: “Now, not only...

If there are still Americans who need a reason to suspect that Democratic politics have corrupted some of the highest levels of the Federal Bureau of Instigation and Justice Department, Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley just gave it. In a news release issued late Monday, the senior Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee went public with word of FBI whistleblowers who had come to his office with damning allegations about the operation of FBI offices in Washington. And, naturally, its kid-glove handling of first son Hunter Biden is getting a big role. In the news release, Grassley linked to a letter...

The boss of CNN’s incoming parent company is taking aim at Brian Stelter. John Malone, the biggest shareholder of Discovery, harshly criticized Stelter in an informal meeting of the company’s executives, according to a report. Discovery is completing a merger with WarnerMedia, CNN’s current parent company. “I would like to see CNN evolve back to the kind of journalism that it started with, and actually have journalists, which would be unique and refreshing,” said Malone in a November CNBC interview The ratings of Stelter’s “Reliable Sources” have been dismal in the aftermath of the Trump era, with the weekend host...

Nature can be a force to be reckoned with, especially the dangers that lurk in Florida waters. While most people probably think of alligators first, it was the mud that proved to be most dangerous for one wayward dog this week. On Wednesday morning, a local good Samaritan spotted the dog, which appeared to be an elderly golden retriever, in water and mud along a canal. Golden retrievers are notorious for their love of the water, but this one had bitten off a little more than he could chew. While he was alive, he wasn’t moving and seemed to be...

An intelligent U.S. president assessing the current energy situation would conclude that now might be a good time to loosen regulations on oil and gas drilling, rethink the Keystone XL Pipeline project and maybe open up drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. After all, the world has suddenly become a more dangerous place, and energy independence is essential to national security. Nope. With oil prices at record highs, and likely heading higher, the Biden administration refuses to put the brakes on its anti-fossil-fuels agenda. President Joe Biden and his minions have made it clear they’re not about to let...

It’s a pattern that’s almost algorithmic by now. Hateful graffiti or messages are used to deface a public place. Outrage ensues. Liberals publicly flog conservatives — especially those who support former President Donald Trump. The guilty party turns out to be someone diametrically opposed to conservative ideology. There was a bit of a deviation from the norm after the arrest of a man who allegedly sprayed swastikas on the entrance Union Station in Washington, D.C.’s, one day after Holocaust Remembrance Day. Usually, these things are the work of hoax artists. In this case, it turns out to be a Hispanic...

Despite his family’s attempts to cover for his character, Timothy Simpkins, is now back in jail. The new charge against the “no bad kid” comes as an alleged violation of the $75,000 bond he was released on in October where he was then ordered to home confinement. KTVT reported that the bond conditions required him to abstain from drug use and to not possess alcohol, but a urinalysis report on the 18-year-old alleged shooter came back positive. The court records did not say for what though. Advertisement - story continues below The day before his initial release, Simpkins had an...

Does the adage “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people” apply to high tech? Blake Resnick, CEO of BRINC, a company in the chase to sell drones to police, has developed a drone equipped with stun guns, according to The Intercept. Resnick is a 21-year-old entrepreneur who recently received $25 million in venture capital from Silicon Valley investors. Resnick was recently inducted into Forbes’ “30 under 30” list and is a recipient of a Thiel Fellowship. Resnick appears to be an impressive young man. According to The Intercept, Resnick told Stuart Varney of Fox Business his company’s drones are now...

President Joe Biden was asked about the chances that he will run for re-election in 2024 and managed to give himself a noteworthy bit of wiggle room by mentioning his own health which, of course, might be a factor that you might imagine would have some bearing on whether or not he will seek a second term. ABC News’ “World News Tonight” anchor David Muir asked the president on Wednesday night if he plans to run for re-election, to which Biden replied, “Yes.” However, he added that he is nonetheless “a great respecter of fate” and this would depend on...

After 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted of all charges in the deaths of two men who attacked him in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last year, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler immediately announced his request for action from the federal government. Now, some legal experts say any prosecution by President Joe Biden’s Justice Department claiming Rittenhouse committed civil rights violations while defending himself would almost certainly fail. And the chances of a successful civil lawsuit would likely be just as poor.

President Donald Trump is considering spending as much as $100 million of his own money in a final campaign push to beat Democratic nominee Joe Biden in November’s election, according to a new report. People familiar with the discussions told Bloomberg that the Republican president has talked about the idea with multiple people but hasn’t committed to it at this time. Trump contributed $66 million to his 2016 campaign, but it is unprecedented for an incumbent president to use his own funds in attempting to win a second term in office. The report comes as Biden and the Democratic National...

In the face of violent protests throughout the nation, the rallying cry by many perpetrating the mayhem is for police to be defunded or disbanded. The people of Portland, Oregon, had a brief glimpse of that reality, as police were forced to ignore all but emergency calls after law enforcement was tied up responding to violent rioting over the Independence Day holiday weekend. Public Information Officer Lt. Tina Jones provided hourly video updates on the situation on the Portland Police Bureau Twitter feed overnight Saturday into early Sunday morning, including announcing that the city would not be able to respond...

A new study has found that the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine helped patients survive COVID-19 while in the hospital, countering the establishment media’s criticism of President Donald Trump when he suggested the same thing. The study was conducted by a team at Henry Ford Health System in Southeast Michigan and published in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases on Thursday. Researchers studied a group of 2,541 hospitalized patients and found mortality rates were substantially reduced when patients were treated with hydroxychloroquine. The study found that 13 percent of patients treated with just hydroxychloroquine died compared with 26.4 percent not treated with...

It’s pretty unusual when a Nike campaign involves a sports figure who hasn’t played for years. Usually, that player was a legend — but in this case, he was an above-average player who turned into a bust and then got mired in personal controversy. That’s what made Nike’s decision to put Colin Kaepernick on its latest advertisements such a bizarre decision. After all, there were plenty of reasons he could have been chased from the league that weren’t just related to his decision to protest the national anthem. There was his play. There was that tweet his girlfriend sent which...

Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison isn’t having the best week, but it’s nothing compared to what women around him have been through. The Minnesota lawmaker and Deputy Chair of the Democrat National Convention was accused by Karen Monahan of being physically abusive during their relationship. Karen’s son, Austin Monahan, backs up her claim. Now a second woman has courageously stepped forward, and she’s got the 911 report that gives her horrifying story some serious weight. Laura Loomer published the official report to her website.
