The cuts add up to about 1.5 percent of the company's workforce of 30,000 employees, the source said. Gray Davis' staffers, forcing the evacuation of staffers who had apparently planned to burn the midnight oil when something else ignited.</p> <p>Firefighters were called at 10:21 p.m. to the east side of the Capitol by reports of light smoke wafting from the staffer's office.</p>
