Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) on Thursday signed an executive order blocking state law enforcement agencies from detaining undocumented immigrants at the request of federal officials, days after the Trump administration began ramping up immigration enforcement actions. Inslee’s order prevents state agencies from discriminating against or refusing service to those in living the country illegally. It also blocks those agencies from spending state resources to create or enforce a registry of citizens on the basis of religious affiliation. The order blocks the Washington State Patrol and the state Department of Corrections from detaining anyone solely on the basis...

Tacoma, WA – A Washington State Patrol Trooper is the focus of an investigation because he notified ICE about a criminal illegal immigrant, just as he had been trained to. According to Q13 Fox, the incident began on February 9th when the Trooper, who was not identified, did a routine check of a driver’s license during a traffic crash on I-5. That driver’s license belonged to Armando Chavez Corona, whose car was hit during a multi-vehicle collision. When Corona’s driver’s license was checked, which is standard procedure for officers to do when investigating car crashes, a warning came back from federal authorities...

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. - The city of Mercer Island plans to sue Sound Transit and the State Department of Transportation over I-90 access, which could freeze the East Light construction project set to begin in June. The City Council unanimously approved the legal action Monday during a packed council meeting. They plan to sue both agencies and seek a moratorium on the construction as they search for short-term solutions to their traffic concerns. In response to the authorized legal action, Sound Transit CEO Peter Rogoff released a statement calling the decision “highly regrettable.” “While Sound Transit remains ready to reach...

An “antiracist” poster in a college writing center insists American grammar is “racist” and an “unjust language structure,” promising to prioritize rhetoric over “grammatical ‘correctness.'” The poster, written by the director, staff, and tutors of the University of Washington, Tacoma’s Writing Center, states “racism is the normal condition of things,” declaring that it permeates rules, systems, expectations, in courses, school and society. “Linguistic and writing research has shown clearly for many decades that there is no inherent ‘standard’ of English,” proclaims the writing center’s statement. “Language is constantly changing. These two facts make it very difficult to justify placing people...

Lawyers for detained “Dreamer” Daniel Ramirez Medina went to court Friday seeking his immediate release and calling his arrest in a Des Moines apartment unconstitutional. A federal magistrate ruled he wasn’t empowered to free Ramirez before an immigration judge gets a chance to weigh in. But in a case that he said had far-reaching implications about federal policy regarding Dreamers, and which has drawn the concern of the Mexican government and immigration activists nationwide, Chief Magistrate Judge James Donohue took the unusual step of requiring that a bond hearing in immigration court be held within a week. U.S. District Court...

SEATTLE (AP) — A Seattle area man detained by immigration agents despite his participation in a federal program to protect those brought to the U.S. illegally as children admitted to having gang ties, the U.S. Justice Department said in court documents filed Thursday. In yet another case where an LGBT “non-discrimination” order trumped First Amendment rights, the Washington Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that conscience rights don’t matter when it comes to running a business. In the case of Ingersoll v. Arlene’s Flowers – in which a gay client sued Baronelle Stutzman, a Christian floral artist who refused to participate in his same-sex wedding – the Evergreen State’s high court ruled that Stutzman’s First Amendment rights to freedom and expression should be subjugated to the LGBT agenda.

American leftists see huge gains as anger grows against Donald Trump's anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim policies. The election of far-right President Donald Trump has led to a surge in membership of socialist organisations across the United States. During his first few weeks in office, Trump has already issued a flurry of executive orders targeting Muslims and immigrants, while moving to lift regulations on Wall Street. In response, protests have taken place in cities across the country. Last week, demonstrations against Trump's now frozen ban on travellers from seven Muslim-majority countries were held at airports. The day after his inauguration, millions joined...

The US justice department has filed a court motion against the suspension of President Trump’s travel ban on people from seven mainly Muslim nations. The move seeks to reverse Friday’s ruling by a federal judge in Washington State. Visa holders from the affected nations have been scrambling to get flights to the US, fearing they have a slim window to enter America. Mr Trump’s ban last week led to mass protests and confusion at US airports. There were further demonstrations on Saturday in Washington, Miami and other US cities as well as in a number of European capitals. Thousands of...

As the Washington State House Judiciary Committee gathers in Olympia to hear public testimony on two gun control bills Thursday afternoon, proponents of the measure requiring licensing and extensive background checks to own so-called “assault weapons” have a major problem. Uniform rime data from the FBI dating back to 2013 does not support contentions that semi-automatic rifles or shotguns pose a serious threat to public safety. Indeed, crime reports spanning three years – 2013, 2014 and 2015, the most recent year for which data is available – suggest quite the opposite. Rifles and shotguns are used in a fraction...

Just before midnight on Jan. 27, 1700, Japan woke to a massive tsunami, a surprise since no one there felt the earthquake that would’ve caused it. Years later, scientists finally figured out why – it all started in Cascadia, exactly 317 years ago. Samurai, merchants and villagers wrote of minor flooding and damage. Confusion abounded. After all, there had been no tremor in Japan that would’ve given locals warning of a rogue wave. The “orphan tsunami” wouldn’t be linked to the parent earthquake, which originated in the geologically active Pacific Northwest’s Cascadia subduction zone, until the 1990s. The zone hosts a...

As faith dies out in the West, Islam moves in The Women’s March on Washington and other cities has effectively demonstrated the division in our nation. One side wants to conserve our ideals while the other side demands an end to our Judeo-Christian principles and faith. In the process, these protesters are being unknowingly manipulated by Islamists, Anarchists and Communists, much of it financed by George Soros. The formula is simple. You find impressionable or unhappy people, tell them their misery is not their fault and then build a fire underneath them.
