Wrapped in a Ukrainian flag, Irina Dovgan is forced to stand at a Donetsk intersection with a sign identifying her as a spy and reading: "She kills our children." A woman berates and then kicks Dovgan as a man holding a rifle looks on. Images of the scene that unfolded in eastern Ukraine in August sparked outrage and concern for the initially unidentified woman. Dovgan's name was eventually revealed and her story told, including to RFE/RL's Russian Service in an exclusive interview.

Despite the agreement and the officer’s word from the Russian commander, there was no withdrawal corridor for the Ukrainian troops encircled near Ilovajsk. A group of Russian servicemen detained in eastern Ukraine did not get lost, but were carrying out a special task, Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said.

On 8/1/2014, Muslim Brotherhood Students in Al-Azhar University kidnapped two police soldiers and stolen their Identities. The two soldiers were in their way to buy lunch, when Muslim Brothers students surrounded them and dragged them inside the university.
