RICHMOND — Republican Donald Trump, never short on campaign shockers, pulled one off Saturday simply by setting foot in Virginia. Trump’s rally in Virginia Beach, part of a renewed push here that included a $2 million television ad buy, flabbergasted political analysts and GOP strategists who’ve considered the swing state off the table for months. Trailing Democrat Hillary Clinton by double digits in the latest Virginia polls, Trump will dispatch key surrogates — his children — for series of visits to Northern Virginia this week. His campaign said Trump and runningmate Mike Pence will return to the state “a lot”...

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today, as part of its ongoing Election Integrity Project, announced that Judicial Watch volunteer poll observers will monitor polling sites in Virginia on Election Day. Judicial Watch poll monitors will be in Virginia in response to significant concerns about the integrity of the election process there: 1,046 aliens , or residents who are not U.S. citizens, were on the voter rolls in 8 Virginia counties. If that rate of non-citizen registration held in the rest of Virginia’s counties, that would mean that about 6,500 non-citizens are registered to vote in Virginia. A September 2016 report...

SUFFOLK, VIRGINIA - A bizarre case of mistaken identity when a Virginia woman's wig is thought to be a child left in her car. Jasmine Turner says she went out to the store on her work break when she got a call from police about an unresponsive child in her car. "By the time I get from the Wal-Mart back to my job, the police aren't there, but the window's busted out of my car and there's glass everywhere," says Turner. Except Turner doesn't have kids. Turner says she left her wig on a pile of blankets in the backseat...

The results of the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections have shown that whoever wins Loudon County wins Virginia. The county in the past 16 years has seen significant growth of the Indian-American community, mainly on account of the emergence of an IT corridor near the Dulles Airport. There were 1,200 Indian-Americans in 2000, which increased to 12,000 in 2010. The number is estimated to have jumped to 30,000 in 2016. The neighboring Fairfax County too has an estimated 20,000 strong Indian-American community members.

The owners of the display were grateful the officer saw the fire when he did. “If it wasn’t for...

Mike Sienda already felt aggrieved when his boss at the National Ground Intelligence Center’s Rivanna Station told him in early September to not show up on grounds with his giant Trump-Pence signs on the side of his box truck. When he was told he couldn’t park on the federal property with a smaller Trump 2016: Make America Great Again sign in the back window of his Jeep, Sienda contacted the Rutherford Institute, a local civil rights org. And within two days of its attorneys writing NGIC October 12, he was told, uh, never mind, the smaller sign is just fine....

After seeing reports last week that his campaign was pulling out of Virginia, Donald Trump picked up the phone and called his Virginia state director Mike Rubino to deliver a very clear message: he will not withdraw, and will give Rubino whatever resources needed to win the Old Dominion. Last week, a sixth-grader clipped me for five bucks . . . to help the public schools. The boy was going door to door, which I’ve had occasion to do. And he was certainly well mannered and well spoken. Glad to give. Plus, it was only one Federal Reserve Note, the second-smallest denomination — that’s what I had in my pocket. It was like buying a Starbucks venti-something. On the other hand, after he left, I was a little bit irritated by the encounter. You see, we in Prince William County, Virginia, pay pretty hefty property taxes to support...
