Do you think they are about to talk about the African Press International tapes with Michelle?

Fortunately I did not have to think too hard about this one. It's just that some of you may be surprised by my choice, as it is someone you may not expect....It all started on June 2, 2004. A software engineer from Salt Lake City named Ken Jennings became the new Jeopardy! champion. He would defend this title 74 consecutive times, only to be defeated on the episode that aired on November 30. At first, when he began his run, Ken was just an okay guy to me. That turned into frustration as he continued to win, and I desired...

You could see it in that first presser.....This wasn't Georgie Bush, this was Tex.....In the old west, when your name needed to convey a lot of different things, (stature, type, origins, etc.) you could end up as either Georgie, or a harder name; the most favored name for an out of state Texan was simple: Tex.....Well, for sure our President is out of state, and he has proven he ain't no Georgie, (no offense).....Me? I like Tex just fine......for a lot of reasons.....

I haven't done this before (and the moderators may not post this) but I've reached my limit. This past weekend our local newspaper had two columns from 'enlightened' national commentators, and one political cartoon, all saying that those of us with a professed faith who voted for George Bush were uninformed, unsophisticated lunatics. This was followed by still another column in the Sunday paper, by another columnist, saying virtually the same thing. Today on the internet there are still more references to the "analyses" of "experts", all saying that we are silly, not-to-be-taken seriously individuals. Well, here is some food...

Please look carefully at the most recent democrat presidents: *** Clinton - Bill Clinton won in 1992 because of a couple of reasons...he ran to the center (see the DLC) of the road against a president weakened by a recession at the end 12 straight years of republican administrations. He never got a majority of the vote (only in the 40's thanks to Perot). He also won re-election due to his adoption of many things on the republican agenda (welfare reform, balanced budgets,...) thereby angering many in his own party. *** Carter - Jimmy Carter took office in the first...

55 is nice but we need to move closer to 60 in the Senate.....Lord willing, some events could make it happen... 1. Ted Kennedy's liver finally gives out 2. TheRAYSa divorces Kerry and he quits to work full time on finding a new heiress.... Mitt Romney names replacements....now we're at 57... Any other ideas?

I cant even explain the satisfaction I am now getting from watching these ppl. squirm

I see an unalterable divide. I really suggest everyone here go to Democratic Underground (where we are not allowed to post, per their rules) and read what they are saying. Expect a lot of anger, profanity, anti-religous bigotry and hatred. See a lot of mischaracterization of who we are and what we believe. I see this divide as somewhat permanant. On a personal level people can and do change. In my experience getting people to either become involved in the shooting sports or going to church and over time their politics are going to change. I run a discussion group...

As told to this FReeper: TROLL: "Look at what Republicans have posted to celebrate their victories on Tuesday. "Necessity compels me to ask, as a troll, Who in this world ever decided that the electoral map should be divided between Red states for Republicans and Blue states for Democrats? This is unfortunate and unfair. "Red has always stood for the Glorious Russian Revolution, and the Chinese Reds, not to mention Bolsheviks, Communists, Socialists, Independents from Vermont, ... and Red Sox fans from ultra-liberal Boston. "By this sinister plot, Democrats have been robbed of their colorful identity. We have lost control...

I am looking for some dialogue with fellow conservatives on the Free Trade Area of the America's(FTAA). I have been doing a lot of research into this and as a conservative it is very troubling. It would seem to be more of the globalist "new world order" agenda at work and looks to cause the erasure of the American border. One problem is, most of the groups(aside from the Birchers) who oppose the FTAA are wacky nutjob liberals- the communist party of the USA and other looney left radical marxist groups oppose it because of its association with "evil global...

The country is clearly divided and being divided feels yukky to some people. A lot of rough-housing and mean-spirited campaigning went on during this election year. Name calling like "girlie-men" and "unpatriotic" and "losers" may have hurt the feelings of emotionally vulnerable individuals. Those same individuals were probably the ones to get the balls spiked into their faces during high school dodgeball games. And that can hurt. Especially if you're wearing glasses and headgear. Anyway, IT'S HIGH TIME TO APOLOGIZE AND HEAL THE WOUNDS. PRESIDENT BUSH IS A UNITER, NOT A DIVIDER, as Nancy Pelosi reiterated today. And while President...

There's so much being said about Red vs. Blue states, it's beginning to sound as though the red states are comprised entirely of neanderthal, bible-thumping rednecks, and the blue states are comprised entirely of the intellectual, all-knowing, global-aware elites. Well, I did a summary of the Blue states and it turns out that 24,839,492 bible-thumping neanderthals from those states voted for George W. Bush. In looking at the Blue states, they comprise the largest cities in the country - Detroit, New York, Baltimore, etc., i.e., the government handout crowd coupled with their liberal sympathizers. In D.C., George got less than...

Linda Vester finally just broke in and said on Dayside....President Bush has just been declared the winner of Iowa's electoral votes....the crowd erupted in applause...it's about time! MSNBC should color the box in on their democracy ice rink sometime around Christmas.

Yipes! Looks like this whole America-healing thing has been a bit slower than earlier anticipated. We here at Iowahawk are all about keeping hope alive, so here's fresh batch of positives to keep our progressive friends warm during the upcoming Rovian ice age: When you dig into the demographics of the red states, the first thing that jumps out is their huge population growth and birth rates. With so many uncontrolled herds of screaming babies running underfoot in places like Utah and Texas, eventually these people will have to start clamoring for abortion rights. Money is the lifeblood of politics,...

Here are some possible wishlist items for Bush's second term and what we might expect in 2008: 1) The US should withdraw from the UN and stop generously paying 80% of the cost to run it. It is obvious that the UN is a completely corrupt organization as exemplified by the dishonesty of most of the UN opposition countries during the Iraq inspections. As Democrats know, but probably chose to ignore, France, Germany, and Russia all were getting huge oil bribes from Saddam to influence them to vote against removal of Saddam. Russia was helping Iraq get rid of weapons...

To all good people of countries other than the US- WE are now officially a rogue nation- please don’t blame the citizens of the US as we have been taken over by Nazis. Trust us, we are more frightened than you. There is no possible way that Bush is the most popular president ever. There is no way that he won this election. It is a lie, supported by fraudulent elections and corrupt government officials. There is no popular support for Bush, only Bush freepers on the net paid for by homeland security to convince other nations and naive US...

You all took turns laughing because I am an extreme left, but I laugh at you because you people proved me right. You delete remarks for no other reason but you don't like the thoughts expressed, (though mine was left for assument) inactivate my account, and preach free speech for all. My words weren't for the purpose of starting a war, only to say, "hey, what do you think about this?" I didn't get one intellgent arugment. Name calling yes, insults yes, nothing thought provoking. So you cane prove me right yet again, and delete this post and inactivate my...

Exactly why are you retards happy that this Cokehead chimp is back? Do Conservatives like escalating budget deficits? I guess so. Do Conservatives like pointless wars initiated by lies? I guess so. You really must love outsourced jobs and a crappy economy. You are probably too stupid to realize how the country is now screwed. To hell with all of you.

Following is the full English transcript of Usama bin Ladin's speech in a videotape sent to Aljazeera. In the interests of authenticity, the content of the transcript, which appeared as subtitles at the foot of the screen, has been left unedited. Praise be to Allah who created the creation for his worship and commanded them to be just and permitted the wronged one to retaliate against the oppressor in kind. To proceed: Peace be upon he who follows the guidance: People of America this talk of mine is for you and concerns the ideal way to prevent another Manhattan, and...
