In an unusually pointed rebuke of its ally, Israel said on Wednesday that it was “deeply disappointed” by Secretary of State John Kerry’s remarks a day earlier that appeared to lay primary blame on Israel for the crisis in the American-brokered Middle East peace talks.

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter on Monday expressed support for the Palestine Liberation Organization’s (PLO) move to seek membership in international organizations, reports the Ma’an news agency. “The decision by the Palestinians to exercise their right to join international organizations should not be seen as a blow to the peace talks,” Carter said in a statement. “I hope that, on the contrary, it will help to redress the power imbalance between Israelis and Palestinians, as we approach the 29 April deadline set by Secretary Kerry,” he added, according to Ma’an. …

(Reuters) - The U.S. Senate passed legislation on Monday seeking to bar Iran's proposed U.N. ambassador, Hamid Abutalebi, from entering the United States. The legislation, introduced by Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz, would prevent "known terrorists" from entering the United States to serve as U.N. ambassadors. The Democratic-controlled Senate passed the measure by a voice vote. The possibility that Abutalebi may have played a role in the 1979-1981 hostage crisis has outraged some of the U.S. Embassy workers held by the Iranians for 444 days. Several lawmakers had said they were infuriated that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani would make such...

Top Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrett recently granted an interview to a celebrity gossip website called POPSUGAR and revealed why she had come to Hollywood. "I'm meeting with writers of various TV shows and movies to try to get it into the scripts." The "it" is Obamacare. Conservatives are no match for liberals in this arena. The White House people know the immense cultural power the left has in popular culture. Liberals rightly credit TV and movies and pop songs for America's growing support for gay "marriage." So why not use that power for Obamacare? Jarrett told the POPSUGAR crew...

The Obama administration thinks Hollywood can do much more to promote its signature health care reform. Stars from Lady Gaga to Scandal's Kerry Washington have been promoting ObamaCare via social media. The humor site Funny or Die has produced a series of videos shilling for the reform, including one featuring President Barack Obama himself. That's simply not enough, says Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett. Now, she wants Hollywood screenwriters to start dropping ObamaCare references into their scripts--assuming said shout outs will be positive, of course. Is there any doubt some scribes will gleefully abide by her wishes? Jarrett told the hosts...

'I'm a really good nag.' A top of advisor to President Barack Obama is in Los Angeles to try to get Obamacare written into scripts of TV shows and movies. Valerie Jarrett explained in an appearance on Top That! on PopSugar.com: "That's the cool thing," a host said to the presidential advisor. "You've been reaching out to people that are, you know, outside of the norm of what the president might work with. Who else are you working with? Like celebrities, personalities, things like that?" "You name it," said Jarrett. "That's part of why I'm in L.A. I'm meeting with...

Suppose you were a committed leftist revolutionary who somehow got elected president of center-right America. Suppose you were great at making speeches, but little else. You masked your socialist agenda in the appealing rhetoric of fairness and justice, but secretly loathed the American system of constitutional government and free-market capitalism. Suppose you also had developed into a pathological narcissist with an absurdly grandiose view of yourself and almost no tolerance for criticism and disagreement. Suppose your ego was so fragile, your worldview so distorted, your mind so angry beneath your charismatic exterior, and your self-image of being a divinely gifted...

For eight years, the media envisioned Dick Cheney as the ‘evil genius’ behind the Bush White House, but few in the media have wanted to take a long look at the ‘evil genius’ behind the Obama White House. The populist grass roots myth died shortly after Obama was elected and while plenty of books have been written about the internal workings of the Obama campaign and administration, unlike the books written about Bush, they rarely inform mainstream media news coverage. When these books and articles come from within the media, the authors are not attacked and their work isn’t...

President Obama Sunday returned from yet another golf vacation, this one a two-day excursion to Key Largo with First Lady Michelle Obama. The Obamas stayed at the ritzy Ocean Reef Club, requiring a major security operation to ensure their safety and happiness. “The White House rented several houses in Ocean Reef and security in the community was tight,” according to KeysInfoNet, which said F-16s had to be scrambled a couple of times to escort private planes out of the area. It’s the third vacation of the year for the Obamas, following their annual sojourn in Hawaii in January and separate...

Bill O’Reilly faced off with White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett Thursday night over President Obama‘s “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative, and they tussled over the “gangsta” culture O’Reilly argued holds plenty of young people back and what the White House can do to help stem problems like teenage pregnancy and the collapse of the family unit. O’Reilly told Jarrett he doesn’t think the Obama administration sees the “urgency” of many of these problems,” and told her that “you’re going to have to get people like Jay-Z, Kanye West, all of these gangsta rappers, to knock it off.” O’Reilly argued it’s...

The Obama administration’s indictment of critic Dinesh D’Souza on campaign finance law violations is a reminder that it’s dangerous to be in the opposition when the president is a lawless strongman who knows the media will protect him no matter what. Democratic malefactors remained at large on Friday as D’Souza pleaded not guilty to charges that he directed two individuals to each make $10,000 donations to the campaign of Wendy Long, an unsuccessful Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, on the understanding he would reimburse them, which he did not long after. The court in New York reportedly imposed unusually tough...

"People around our country are hungry for action," White House Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Tuesday. "And what you'll hear from the president tonight is going to be all about action -- creating opportunity -- and it's going to be a very optimistic speech." Jarrett said the president, in his sixth State of the Union Address, will "set forth very specific, concrete proposals that he things will move our country forward -- create opportunity for hard-working Americans who want to succeed." ... Michelle Obama's visit to Oprah's Hawaii compound has crippled the neighborhood around O's home ... and some neighbors are pissed. Some of the residents and business people around Oprah's palatial 12-bedroom Maui estate -- where Michelle recently retreated to spend the last few days of her 40s -- are all telling the same story ... Michelle's visit is making day-to-day life almost impossible.

First Lady Michelle Obama extended her own vacation, flying to the island of Maui, where she is spending time with family friend Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey’s magazine describes the home as a “perfect 21st-century farmhouse” in a “remote up-country region, where the houses that dot the moss-covered rock hillside face the ocean.” The president said he sent his wife to Maui as an early birthday present; she turns 50 Jan. 17. The Daily Caller reports Michelle Obama is also spending time with Gayle King of CBS News, White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and Sharon Malone, wife of Attorney General Eric...

Michelle Obama is spending her extended Hawaiian vacation at Oprah’s “exquisite” Maui getaway, The Daily Caller has learned. While White House pool reports indicate the first lady stayed behind this week in Hawaii to chill out with friends before her 50th birthday, there weren’t many specifics. But sources with direct knowledge tell TheDC that the first lady is relaxing in Maui at Oprah’s estate with CBS’ Gayle King, Valerie Jarrett and Sharon Malone, who is Attorney General Eric Holder’s wife. Sources say she’s there for a “girl’s getaway” before the big 5-0.

In a recent long-form article on the troubles that the banking and investment sectors have had with the destructive policies coming out of the White House, unnamed Democrats told Politico that Rahm Emanuel and, most especially, Valerie Jarrett were not only entirely unresponsive to their concerns, but they actually lacked any knowledge about the industries for which they were tasked with crafting policy--and earned no "respect" because of it. Things got so bad that representatives of the financial sectors just stopped having meetings with the White House because any such meetings were pointless. The December 11 article, "Lament of the...
