Since last month’s killing of 26-year-old missionary, John Allen Chau, a lot of ink has been spilled. On November 17, 2018, Chau of Washington state died at the hands of an isolated tribe in an island that is under India’s jurisdiction, although it is about 1000 miles southeast of India.North Sentinel Island is closed to any outside influence. Chau wanted them to learn about Jesus, the only hope for salvation, who died in the place of sinners---receiving in His own body the due penalty of our sins. The Boston Globe’s Renee Graham wrote that what killed him was hubris. She opined, “Chau...

Three 15-year-old girls in Idaho have penned an open letter supporting Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when the two were teenagers. The letter, created Wednesday by teenagers who identify themselves as Layla, Charlotte and Jessica, is being driven by Change.org, a website that allows people to start and sign petitions that “call for social change.” The petition, which has a goal of 1,000 signatures, had reached 723 signatures by Thursday afternoon. In their letter, the three teens commend Ford for going public this week with her allegations. Ford...

On Friday, October 10th, 2008, John McCain was giving a presentation at one of his rallies. During this rally, an attendee stood up and asked a question about then candidate Senator Barack Obama. LINK McCain responded at length admonishing her for the premise she had presented about Obama, when she said she feared an Obama presidency. During his presentation, he told her, the other attendees, and citizens around the nation that they had nothing to fear from an Obama presidency. It was essentially an endorsement. Anyone aprehensive about an Obama presidency was told not to have any fear. This was effectively...

I have long enjoyed Free Republic as a news source, and greatly enjoy the depth of the commentary. I woke up from my political coma, like many Americans, during the 2007 Presidential campaign. I have since been silently witnessing the pain and suffering of our beloved country and liberties. I sincerely want the tide of politics to shift, but fear it too late. Time will show. I hope I can contribute to the FReep discussions intelligently.

As he makes his way from his temporary basement office to the U.S. Capitol building, Barack Obama jokes that he finally has an apartment, but no furniture. He finally has a bed, but it has no sheets. He has a refrigerator but it has "nothing in it, not even a six-pack," he says. But he does have a seat in the U.S. Senate! Indeed, on this, the first day of his new job, the sole African-American U.S. senator is the first to admit that he's a long way from Illinois and the comforts of home. But it's a day the...

Interesting how Nobody seems to recall THAT BUSH AND HINCKLEY HAD DINNER PLANS THAT NIGHT He is currently undergoing emergency surgery at George Washington University Hospital but there are unconfirmed reports he walked in unaided. Initial reports claim he may have a punctured lung. Five to six shots were fired as he left the Washington Hilton Hotel where he had been addressing a union convention, about one mile from the White House. A man, firing at close range, also wounded White House Press Secretary James Brady in the head. A Secret Service official and a Washington policeman were also injured...

Boston Globe columnist Thomas Oliphant (he of the annoying, "heh-heh-heh-heh" laugh) visited the Imus show this morning and lived up to his longstanding prefix, "Ignorant". And if you think I'm being cruel about his laugh, don't worry, it was openly mocked on the program by, if you can believe it, Camilla Parker-Bowles. Or maybe that was an impersonator, I'm not sure. In any event, his comments have defined a high-water mark for ignorance. Allow me to describe what kind of garbage he dispensed this morning...

Welcome to Balloon World Thanks to an audio feed snafu on CNN at the end of Sen. Kerry's speech, in which the Democrat’s convention producer could be heard giving frantic directions to underlings, in order to assure that the American public had no doubts about the important “message” Democrats wanted to communicate to us, the pithy sound bite that will forever immortalize the 2004 Democrat National Convention/Presidential campaign rang out like the “shot heard ‘round the world” from a Boston suburb some 229 years earlier: “More balloons..... MORE BALLOONS!! MORE BALLOONS, DAMMIT!!! WHERE THE F*CK ARE THE BALLOONS?” While arguably...

The bookstore had originally planned to give out 250 wristbands, but as the Democratic senator stayed on signing, more than 1,000 were distributed, said Donna Passannante, a Barnes & Noble executive. "It ranks up there with one of the top book signings we've done here," she said. Falsus in uno... According to renowned New York City literary agent Lucianne Goldberg, those fabulous book sale figures racked up by Hillary Clinton's "Living History" may turn out to be mere publishing industry hype. Reacting to Tuesday's reports Mrs. Clinton sold 200,000 copies a day after her book's...

Tonight I thought Kimberly was great, Clay was masterful as always considering he pulled a difficult song to sing, and Ruben was all right. Also however Unchained Melody was arranged, it sounded sped up (excuse my grammar) so I thought Clay worked well with that. And how fun was Mack the Knife! What did everyone else think? MOderator, sorry if I post this in the wrong place.
