A San Diego building housing an office for Sen. Kamala Harris and the San Diego Union-Tribune was evacuated Wednesday after a suspicious package was found. The packages were discovered atop a trash can outside the newspaper’s office, San Diego police Officer Billy Hernandez told reporters. The paper’s immigration reporter Kate Morrissey shared a photo of the packages to social media following the evacuation. A press representative for Harris has yet to issue a statement on the incident.

Just reported here in San Diego that a suspicious package has been discovered at the local newspaper the Union Tribune. The building has now been evacuated. I mean come on… the Union Tribune? Debbie Wasserman Schultz? Why not just paint a false flag on your four head and go running through the street screaming the GOP is bad the GOP is bad the GOP is bad .... Hillary Clinton conveniently being at a microphone just to give her opinion… This is better choreographed than a concert at Carnegie Hall What a JOKE!!!

Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006 | The San Diego Union-Tribune is offering early retirement packages to 67 employees who have at least 30 years of experience in an attempt to cut payroll costs without laying off employees. The company told employees Wednesday they have 45 days to decide whether to accept the voluntary early retirement offer -- commonly known as a buyout -- which would give employees a year-and-a-half's salary, a full year of health benefits and partial health coverage beyond that initial period. Employees who accept the offer have a seven-day grace period to change their minds. The buyout-eligible employees,...

...Sinclair bent under enormous political pressure, but notably a kind we haven't seen wielded before to silence the media. We aren't referring to the raft of Democratic complaints filed with official agencies.... A double team by trial lawyers and government officials threatening shareholder suits.... William Lerach, a Democratic funder ... announced plans this week to sue Sinclair because by running the documentary it was creating controversy that cost it advertising revenue.... Media Matters, a liberal media agit-prop outfit, announced it was underwriting another shareholder suit and demanded that Sinclair provide equal time to those with opposing views. (It apparently escaped...

Bush promotes law breaking Posted: January 30, 2004 1:00 a.m. Eastern © 2004 WorldNetDaily.com Common sense says if you tell people they will have a better shot at attaining legal status as Americans if they just come to this country to work for a while, more people will enter the country illegally. Common sense has now been borne out by hard statistical facts provided by the Border Patrol. In the month since President Bush floated his non-amnesty amnesty program, the number of immigrants caught attempting to enter the country illegally at the biggest border crossing checkpoint is up 15 percent....

Why Davis deserves to be recalled http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/op-ed/perkins/20030620-9999_mz1e20perkin.html Joseph Perkins SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE June 20, 2003 Gray Davis is a dead man walking. The most unpopular governor in California history very well could become the first occupant of the state's highest office to be recalled by the voters. Davis suggests that the recall campaign – which he previously dismissed as quixotic – is nothing more than a nefarious attempt by Republicans to overturn the result of California's last gubernatorial election. " It's being organized and financed by a bunch of rich losers," Davis told The Orange County Register. "Nothing but...

Democratic duplicity on soft money -------------------------------------------------------Joseph PerkinsTHE SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE May 9, 2003  American people know that our current campaign finance system is broken. Why have the war critics been so wrong?Joseph Perkins SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE April 11, 2003 Forgive me for engaging in a little "triumphalism." I'm darn proud of our men and women in uniform. They came, they saw, they kicked Saddam's posterior. In a mere three weeks. And "with less than half the ground forces and two-thirds of the air assets used 12 years ago in Desert Storm," as Vice President Dick Cheney noted this week.As coalition forces mop up in Iraq, the focus turns to the post-war campaign – getting humanitarian aid to the needful Iraqi people; installing an interim...
