Abortion activists are attacking pro-life efforts in every way possible, including by twisting Christian teachings to claim that it’s acceptable to kill a unique, living unborn baby who is created in the image of God. Students at Union Theological Seminary prayed to a display of plants set up in the chapel of the school, prompting the institution to issue a statement explaining the practice as many on social media mocked them. "Today in chapel, we confessed to plants," the nation's oldest independent seminary declared Tuesday on Twitter. "Together, we held our grief, joy, regret, hope, guilt and sorrow in prayer; offering them to the beings who sustain us but whose gift we too often fail to honor. Democrats hoping to push President Donald Trump out of the White House are turning to the religious left in an effort to recruit evangelical voters ahead of the 2020 election. In 2012, the last election Democrats won, a headline from their convention read: "Democrats boo God." In 2016, they heckled a preacher during the opening prayer. It's a perception they've been trying to change since, especially on the 2020 campaign trail.

On January 26th, the Union Theological Seminary hosted a new event called the Congressional Faith Orientation on Capitol Hill. At the event, five democrat legislators spoke about how their faith influences their work in the legislature. According to the Christian Post, the representatives included, Sheila Jackson Lee, R-Texas, Emanuel Cleaver, D-Missouri, and James Clyburn, D-South Carolina.
