Barack Obama and his ilk are using the tragedy in Oregon to attack the Second Amendment. His argument is completely illogical but people are so desperate to stop these horrific murders that they will buy into it without truly thinking about the impossible logic of eliminating every gun and the illegal gun trade. They won’t consider that the gun grabbers will go after knives next as former NYC mayor Mike Bloomberg did during his reign.

Washington (CNN)Donald Trump said Saturday that had teachers been armed at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, the deadly shooting there this week would not have been as tragic. Trump has previously cited mental health issues, not guns, as the biggest cause of shootings in the U.S. But his comments on Saturday are his most extensive and emotionally charged about firearms since he launched his campaign in June, as he spoke about his personal gun ownership and elicited his biggest applause of the afternoon in discussing gun rights. "By the way, it was a gun-free zone," he said at a...

An Oregon pastor says a student who was spared by a gunman during a deadly rampage on a college campus received an envelope with a flash drive from the shooter and had to watch as his classmates were killed. Randy Scroggins, whose daughter also survived Thursday's shooting at Umpqua Community College, spoke at his church Sunday as his daughter and the other student, 18-year-old Mathew Downing, sat together in the congregation. Scroggins' daughter Lacey had told him gunman Christopher Sean Harper-Mercer gave an envelope to another student in the class and told him to give it to police.

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The gunman had already shot several students at close range when he stood inches from Lacey Scroggins and demanded she stand up. It was only the fourth day of community college for the 18-year-old aspiring surgeon. She was faced down, her head tucked between her outstretched arms among dead and dying classmates. Scroggins could hear someone gurgling. She felt the weight of mortally wounded Treven Anspach against her, the 20-year-old's blood flowing onto her clothing....

Much like the famous quote about how everyone talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it, (often attributed to Mark Twain, though it was probably first said by Charles Dudley Warner) mass shootings are portrayed as a problem with no solution. Actually, there are solutions on the table from both sides but nobody wants to talk about them.Having been off duty when the Oregon college shooting news broke, I had the time to absorb some of the constantly shifting details coming out of the crime scene. As with all of these events there were wildly inaccurate reports...

ROSEBURG, Ore. (Reuters) - The first thing customers entering the Roseburg Gun Shop see is a life-sized cardboard cutout of President Barack Obama with a Middle Eastern scarf around his head and a badge pinned to his chest that reads: "Gun salesman of the year."The customers and sales staff in this store, located 10 miles (16 km) from Umpqua Community College, where a gunman killed nine people and injured nine others on Thursday, said they were horrified by the shootings. But they were not buying the president’s argument that guns were the problem.

Rand McGowan stayed still amid the gunfire. The 18-year-old was in the writing class where a killer opened fire Thursday, killing nine at Umpqua Community College in Oregon's deadliest mass shooting. McGowan told family members that the gunman didn't specifically target Christians but asked them about faith. The shooter, apparently planning to die during the massacre, told students: "I'll see you soon" or "I'll meet you soon."

When a white supremacist murdered black parishioners in Charleston, SC, there was national outrage leading to the banning of the Confederate Flag and a fresh discussion of race relations in America. But when Christians are targeted and murdered on a campus in Oregon, much of the nation yawns. According to eyewitness reports, the Oregon shooter asked students what their religion was, and if they said “Christian” he shot them in the head. Yet the secular media, for the most part, is focusing more on gun laws than on the shooter’s alleged anti-Christian motivation. Why? Can you imagine what would have...

The Russian Orthodox Church is deeply grieved to learn about the terrible terrorist action in a college in the state of Oregon in the United States, in which peaceful people were killed. What makes the tragedy even graver is that the killer consciously chose to victimize young people who confess Christianity. This glaring inhuman act confirms once again that Christianity has become the most persecuted religion in the world. Extremists in various parts of the world increasingly seek to provoke hatred and enmity among religions and nations, for which they are ready to commit the most inhuman evil deeds. The...

'Every time something like this happens, they talk about it and nothing is done' Read more at http://www.wnd.com/2015/10/shooters-father-blames-guns-not-son-for-massacre/#VIdc0bq86pAOKyW0.99 In a staggering twist of logic, the father of Umpqua Community College killer Christopher Harper-Mercer is blaming guns, rather than his son, for the bloody killing spree that ended with nine innocent people dead.In an interview with CNN, Ian Mercer claims he doesn’t blame guns, then spends much of the interview refuting that assertion. Mercer does not indicate that he believes his son was solely responsible for the massacre.Link to video on WND.com

When President Obama spoke in reaction to the heinous October 1 attack on Umpqua Community College, he went beyond his usual calls for more gun control and suggested instead that America consider following the path blazed by Australia and Great Britain. In the mid-1990s Australia and Great Britain both instituted what were virtually complete bans on firearm possession.Obama referenced the bans thus: We know that other countries, in response to one mass shooting, have been able to craft laws that almost eliminate mass shootings. Friends of ours, allies of ours — Great Britain, Australia, countries like ours. So we know...

"I'm not trying to say that they're to blame for what happened. But if Chris had not been able to get hold of 13 guns it wouldn't have happened." CNN just interviewed the father of the murderer of nine people at Umpqua Community College this week, and though he claims he is not blaming guns, he spent most of the interview doing that exact thing. "That's what guns are. The killers. It's as simple as that. It's black and white," he says. Guns are the killers. Not his son.

The 26-year-old killer who gunned down classmates inside an Oregon college spared a student and gave the "lucky one" something to deliver to authorities, according to the mother of a student who witnessed the rampage. Shooter Christopher Sean Harper-Mercer later killed himself as officers arrived, Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin said Saturday. Authorities have not disclosed whether they have an envelope or package from Harper-Mercer. However, a law enforcement official said Saturday a manifesto of several pages had been recovered.

Nine people are still being treated for injuries they suffered when Chris Harper-Mercer, whose father is reportedly English, opened fire at Umpqua Community College in Oregon on Thursday before dying in a shoot-out with police. He started shooting in a classroom. Although multiple media outlets have identified the shooter as Chris Harper Mercer, Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin refused to speak his name, saying publicizing his identity would "only glorify his horrific actions", and possibly "inspire future shooters". "I know that conversation around firearms will occur and needs to occur, but now is not the time", he said. The three...

Judges 20:31 And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the people, and kill, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel. As a Christian, a graduate of Umpqua Community and having lived in that area for 3 years as well as living in the apartments the killer lived in this week has been extremely close. For Obamarxist to get on the soapbox...

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) - When the gunshots started at Umpqua Community College, some people mistook them for falling books. But Army veteran Chris Mintz quickly recognized the threat. "He was in the military and knew what it was," said Mintz's aunt, Wanda Mintz. He was hit in both legs, his stomach, his back and in the hand, but the bullets did not hit any of his vital organs. He has two rods in his legs and is going to be in a wheelchair for the foreseeable future, she said.

The reports are multiplying — the gunman who killed ten people in Roseburg, Ore., yesterday did, in fact, target Christians during his shooting spree. The brother of victim Autumn Vicari told NBC News that the shooter told his victims to stand and asked them whether they were Christians. If they said “yes,” he shot them in the head. “If they said ‘other’ or didn’t answer, they were shot elsewhere in the body, usually the leg.” A similar report came from student Kortney Moore, who was on the scene. With Christians explicitly targeted for mass murder, are we now going to launch a...

A gunman singled out Christians, telling them they would see God in “one second,” during a rampage at an Oregon college Thursday that left at least nine innocent people dead and several more wounded, survivors and authorities said. “[He started] asking people one by one what their religion was. ‘Are you a Christian?’ he would ask them, and if you’re a Christian, stand up. And they would stand up and he said, ‘Good, because you’re a Christian, you are going to see God in just about one second.’ And then he shot and killed them,” Stacy Boylen, whose daughter was...

Oregon shooter Chris Harper-Mercer was a 'paranoid' and 'childlike' character who circled his neighborhood on a bicycle and 'freaked out' at the smallest things, former neighbors of the mass killer have revealed. In one incident the 26-year-old threw a fit when he suspected someone had slashed the tires on his bicycle. He was so angry that he 'freaked out like it was the end of the world' and screamed profanities at the top of his voice outside his home at an apartment block in Torrance, California.
