This just in: After a blistering exchange of words between the two opponents neither chose to respond to a call for a truce. Early this morning a tweet from Billy B. (name withheld at the request of relatives) seemed to further incense an already irate presidential candidate Donald Trump. The tweet: "He's a no good meanie” was sent from Billy's headquarters about 6 AM. Seemingly a commentary on Mr. Trump's often-flamboyant rhetoric, Billy’s Tweet was not well received. The night before Trump had mocked, not only Megyn Kelly, Eric Erickson and Roger Ailes but Jeb Bush and John the Baptist...

A Minnesota high school student will be allowed to proceed with a lawsuit against school district administrators who suspended him over a two-word tweet about kissing a teacher, the Star Tribune reports. The student, Reid Sagehorn, was an honor student and captain of the football and basketball teams at Rogers High in the 12,500-student Elk River Area district, according to the paper. In January 2014, Sagehorn, using his personal Twitter account, sent a message reading "Actually, yeah" in response to an online question about whether he had "made out" with a 28-year old teacher at the school. The student has...

Hillary Clinton’s 3.6 million Twitter followers may not be as impressive as it seems, as it emerged that around 2 million of them may be fakes that her team paid for. Online measuring tools suggest that only 44% of her social media fan base are actually real people, with the rest of them either fake or inactive.

A group calling itself the Islamic State hacking division has published the details of 1,400 mostly US military and government personnel, urging supporters to attack those listed. The spreadsheet, published online on Wednesday, exposes names, email addresses, phone numbers and passwords. Those listed include members of the marine corps, Nasa, the state department, air force and FBI. Supporters of Isis on Twitter seized on the breach, posting personal details of soldiers and government staffers and encouraging lone wolves to “act and kill”. A person claiming to speak for the group told the Guardian the information was obtained from military and...

Hillary Clinton is trying to tackle America’s student debt problem, and she’s trying to use emojis to help her case. Clinton on Monday announced plans dubbed “the new college compact” to commit $350 billion over the next 10 years to make college more affordable, if elected president. Then, she took to Twitter to ask people to use emoji to describe their feelings about student loan debt. The thing is, she hasn’t gotten a whole lot of emoji responses. But most of all, her tweet seems to have backfired among most people on Twitter. Some noted that using sad faces, cats...

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) is trying to intensify a fight with current Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump. Paul's campaign on Monday announced a conference call with reporters specifically dedicated to Trump. During that call, Paul slammed the real-estate magnate for conducting a substance-less presidential campaign and making derogatory comments about women. "The truth telling is bluster, the truth-telling is non-sequitur, self-aggrandizement, but is there really anything substantive coming out of saying that people are fat, people are stupid?" Paul said of Trump. Calling Trump a "fake conservative," Paul listed off the issues where Trump has agreed with Democrats in the...

Wow — what a week! I’m writing from in between stops on the #CruzCountry Bus Tour as we continue our #CruzToVictory through southern states that will play a huge part in making Ted our Republican nominee for President of the United States. As you likely know, the Republican candidates met in Cleveland, Ohio, for the first debate of the 2016 season on Thursday. And it was a great night for Ted — but don’t just take it from me:Frank Luntz declared the debate “great news for Ted Cruz.â€Charles Krauthammer named Ted Cruz a “winner of the night.â€The Press Enterprise wrote “Cruz...

Yesterday afternoon at Netroots Nation in Providence, RI, I attempted to ask the embattled Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) about his campaign, specifically his record as the deciding vote for Obamacare. Ohio voters passted an amendment to their constitution outlawing the Democrats' health care law by a wide margin in 2011: Ohioans overwhelmingly rejected the healthcare mandate provisions of Obamacare. They did this by handily passing an amendment to the state’s constitution that reads, in part, as follows: No federal, state, or local law or rule shall compel, directly or indirectly, any person, employer, or health care provider to participate in...

“When we find out who they [anti-Israel agitators] are—we just put out the facts. But when they find out who we are—they literally want to kill us. Because that is what they are like.” On February 17, 2015, a number of America’s most vituperative anti-Israel activists woke up to discover that they had been named and spotlighted by a mysterious new website called Canary Mission. The site boldly aggregates the public statements, videos, and photographs of leading members of the organized movement against Israel in their most telling and often most demonstrative moments. The profiled individuals span a gamut of...

(Original title too long: An Old Recording Of Megyn Kelly Talking About Penises, Breasts, And How She Has Sex, Proves Trump Was Right Kelly Is Absolute Trash) Donald Trump was disinvited from a prime speaking role to an important gathering of conservative activists on Friday for his criticism of Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly after a combustible debate performance. As for the vacant spot at the Red State gathering, Red State chief Erick Erickson has invited Kelly to replace Trump. Kelly replacing Trump was a fair judgment in Erickson’s view for saying “blood coming out of her … whatever”. The...

The Sarcastic Rover parody Twitter account came into being on Aug. 6, 2012 (or Aug. 5, depending on the time zone), the night of the famous "seven minutes of terror" landing that brought Curiosity to the Martian surface. Sarcastic Rover's brand of science-minded wit was apparent from the moment it arrived on Twitter. ... The parody account resonated with people immediately. The account attracted about 7,000 followers during its first night online, according to Jason Filiatrault, a screenwriter and the mind behind the sarcastic robot. Sarcastic Rover now has about 134,000 followers, three years into Curiosity's mission. ... SarcasticRover ‎@SarcasticRover...

As Fox News determines exactly who will make the cut for the first Republican presidential debate on Thursday, the data team at Twitter has compiled a similar list. Looking at candidate mentions over the past 30 days — either their Twitter handle or their name written out — Twitter has come up with a top 10 list of their own for the Republican field, based on who is driving the most conversation on the social platform. [SNIP] Without further ado, here’s the top 10 in the Republican primary, according to Twitter mentions. 1. Donald J. Trump (2.7 million) 2. Scott...

Out of Twitter’s 2,910 U.S. employees, only 49 (1.7 percent) are black, and that fact has black activists led by Rev. Jesse Jackson racing to condemn the company. Is the debate about marriage over after the Supreme Court’s June decision to redefine marriage in all fifty states? That’s what some Amazon.com reviewers are insisting after a new book was released last week. The book, “Truth Overruled: The Future of Marriage and Religious Freedom,” is a roadmap from Ryan Anderson, a senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation, on how the conservative movement can move forward in promoting marriage and protecting religious freedom after the Supreme Court’s ruling. “I wrote this book for all Americans. For those who disagree with me, to at least understand the viewpoint of roughly...

Speaking of patriarchy and white supremacy, Kohn didn’t mention that abortion targets African-American babies as well as baby girls. Kohn’s tweet also referenced Sandra Bland, a “Black Lives Matter” activist who police say committed suicide in jail after her highly criticized arrest was caught on camera . But in the reaction to her tweet, Twitter users focused on Planned Parenthood:
